-This is how comics will be in the future?

Why dont you ask Bob Layton and Future how that situation worked out.
Not very good at all.

-Brian

This would work in all other regions except the US in my opinion. We love our monthlys and always will.

I would buy anything about these characters, sadly.

but that's because Future Comics sucked and they were overpriced. It has nothing to do with the format they were published in.

it's impossible to recreate the magic of something fresh and exciting.Thats another special thing about the early Valiant books that people remember and will always want to own these books for.Unlike Image,All the creators except for Barry Smith,Shooter, and Layton were, for the most part, all no-names or B rated in the business, and they put a big foot in the *SQUEE* of the industry. This little independent company, that nobody knew, except for printing the adventures of the Mario Brothers & Zelda, was cranking out some of the coolest books of the era. There will be another Valiant one day, some underdog company that nobody wants to give a chance, that'll smack everybody right in the face and show that it doesn't have to be drawn by Jim Lee or written by Bendis to get attention.I can't see Valiant getting as hot as it was 10 years ago,but they made such a mark that people really do want to see some of the characters back.

Then all the people that still have a ton of copies of whatever will try and dump them to makes some moeny off of them. Then the price will start going down as more and more issues come out...people will start trying to get rid of them and the bottom will fall out...a year from now everyone will still hate valiants, save a the hardcores that we already have and a few new converts...
It's been said a hundred times before, but I'll say it again. The reason Spiderman #1 sells for $107,000 in 9.6 is because the character is still being published. Same for Batman, same for Superman, same for Fantastic Four, same for Flash, same for just about any of the 'major' chatacters. You MUST keep things in people's minds, or they forget.

Why aren't EC's selling for $50,000-$100,000 in 9.6? They certainly exist. Bill Gaines made sure of that. But....name the last new publication featuring an EC original character (say, the Crypt Keeper).....?

So....the ONLY way that Valiants will go from the silly speculator roller coaster highs and lows to a steady 'investment' a la 'the big books' is if the characters are recognizably published again.

It doesn't matter how good or bad it is (and let's face it, Bats, Supes, Spidey, FF have ALL been god AWFUL at times)....so long as there's a new issue every month, two months, weekly, 5 minutes. You HAVE to get new stuff out there for the new fan base.

Because really....as good as some of it was, few are going to say 'I don't need anything else, I got my pre-unity, and that's that!'.

Ya know?

That is awesome...I guess that it kinda shows the power that wizard has over fanboys...I am surprised that it took that long to get one up on ebay...oh well....

Anybody ever stop to think that Wizard intentionally published the wrong cover of Bloodshot 0 to drive all the dealers nuts and cause people to come out of the woodwork and overrun our little community? And that this is all just an April fools joke from Wizard on us? Because they laugh at people that are still into Valiant? That when all this fallout is over the comics themselves will be twice cursed with a dead market? And Wizard will have ironically killed fan interest for the second time? Ever stop to think about that?!
Just wondering...
Billy

Has anyone bothered to email this seller? Let them know what they really got there? I'm very tempted.

oops. ok i hate it when i do this-you ever answer what you think is the last quesiton posed only to find that there are 4 more pages left???

if that person would have done s BIN for $100 with a lower starting price, and then said "as mentioned in this months wizard". i really think it would sell.

i am also guessing, that this person KNOWS exactly what they have.
