I'd put back DD Target as the 2nd issue wont ever be released :)
I saw that when I added it to my collection within ComicBookDB and I was pretty disappointed, but seeing Glenn Fabry interior artwork is always a pleasure for me. :-)
I also picked it up for a whopping 50cents.

I read about 4 years' worth of the Sirius series. Finally managed to track down all 100 issues (1st and 2nd series) - one day I'll get to enjoy them in the order they were published. I'm glad you're having that experience now! :thumb:

Kid Eternity by GM 3 prestige format books. It was interesting and dark amd in the same kind of tone as other books of this era but it really didn't stand up to things like the Sandman or the Dr. Midnite prestige of the time. Not one of Morisson's greatest hits imo but still enjoyable.

Hound of the Baskervilles adaptation by Edington and Culbard.

Great stuff.

Getting ready to give A Study In Scarlet a go.

Speaking of which, anyone watch the BBC Sherlock?

I liked the first episode. Modernized Holmes, pretty cool.

The twists in this one were unbelievable, but it is a comic book. The story itself and the human emotions were fantastic as always.

This book is consistently a great read.
I'm slowly building my collection of this. I've heard nothing but great things about this.
If you were ok with TWD, you should be ok with this in regards to the content. It's not blatantly offensive like Preacher or The Boys or stuff like that.
Maybe to those that are not Native, suuurrree.

*SQUEE* Jason Aaron.

I don't like Jason Aaron either. But it's for what he did to Ghost Rider. That book was just about as perfect as Ghost Rider can get with Daniel Way writing and Javier Saltares & Mark Texeira on art.

Then Jason Aaron comes along and repeats the exact same stupid crap that made the book suck in the 90s.

Been reading my way through a couple of things over the past weekend. Read through the Grant/Breyfogle runs of Detective Comics up to the point where it intersects their run on Batman, read Old Man Logan from beginning to end, and am now working my way through Alan Moore's Image 1963 books. Once I'm finished with that, I'll read the Grant/Breyfogle Batman run. Now that I've decided not to be current and active with my collecting, I'm resolving to read my way through all the stuff I haven't gotten to over the past year or two. Plenty of Valiant stuff to catch up on!

My gripe isn't in the fact of how he shows natives in his book.

It's that if he wanted to show the real crime *SQUEE*, the real deal that goes on between the US government, natives, cigarettes, gambling, HE SHOULD DO HIS *SQUEE* RESEARCH! Instead of pulling *SQUEE* out his *SQUEE* from the sopranos and every other media crime drama.

This weeks reading:

Black Panther (Daredevil) 514 - My first Marvel book in forever, I thought it was the 1st of the BP in Hells Kitchen issue but it was actually the second. Liss writing and Francavilla on art and to be fair I wasn't that impressed with either. Francavilla gets alot of praise but he runs with the same red/black setting regardless of whether it is a gritty scene or just Luke Cage being stereotyped back to his origin. I thought Cage wasn't meant to be mega ghetto anymore? Some of the language he uses in this issue is very unbelievable and sounds like an old man trying to guess what the kids would talk like. As you can tell I was a little dissapointed and nothing seemed to happen.

Fables 102 - The first issue of the new Superhero arc. It was an interesting establishing issue and made some funny quips about the superhero genre. As always good fun, but nothing earth shattering here.

Booster Gold 41 - I was pretty annoyed by this issue. Booster Gold is one of my favourite monthlies and although Giffen's run hasn't been stellar I've enjoyed most of it. This issue irked me by trying to bring up something from Booster's past that has already been dealt with and in a much more interesting way than this time. Booster going back to the 25th century to stand trial NOW makes no sense at all to me and Rip seemed totally out of character throughout the issue. I'll be glad when Jurgens is back in 3 issues.

Batman 707 still to read tonight.

Bit of a poor week for me this time.

Weirdly enough,I know a lot of Yiddish terms for some reason. Also, a trip to Brighton Beach will enlighten one towards Yiddish as well.

The thing that bothers me is that Jurgens will come along and "unwrite" the stuff that Giffen did, and then Giffen will come back and try to put it all right back. It's weird.

Booster laughing and saying "I had them all convinced I'd married a lady named Gladys, but of course I was joking." is a prime example.

TWD HC 5 and 6.

I love how on the covers of these HCs, there is one character highlighted in color while the rest are black and white. It's always the character that is the focus of the HC. Another piece of evidence of Kirkman's brilliant writing.

Vol 1 - Rick
Vol 2 - Michonne
Vol 3 - The Gov
Vol 4 - Lori
Vol 5 - Abe
Vol 6 - Carl

I am currently reading Mouse Guard: Tales of the Guard.

These are not as good as the Mouse Guard books, but they are still enjoyable.

I really enjoy the MG books, my kids too. :thumb:
