Those are all awesome! Didn't know they weren't called treehouse of horror in mainland europe either.vikingspawn wrote:Scored these 2 rare German Simpsons Bongo variants limited to 666 and 777:
These are the German versions of the "Treehouse of Horror" annuals (called "Bart Simpsons Horror Show" in Europe) that come with original covers.
Also scored this German Avengers variant limited to 888:

Anyway, my best deal is UFO & Outer Space # 19 and The Twilight Zone #88 by Whitman Comics (Gold Key) that I found in a bag of six comics for $1.99.
I also got two Backpack Marvels: Target: Angel and Dark Phoenix Returns for a buck each.

I don't have a picture taken of it yet, but I found a copy of Eclipse Comics' Miracleman "The Golden Age" TPB today for $4.99!!! And it is in pristine condition!!! I could not believe it! Comic book luck isn't usually in my world...lol...but when I saw it I could not pass it up. Especially since Neil Gaiman is also my favorite writer
Here is a picture of the book per Google:

WIN !!!
For me it's easier of course, i mean they sell, it's win, win, win yeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaawww !!!
There must be close to ten books from Image in the last two years that are grabbing attention and thoughg im still not sure any of them have blown me away, all are above average on both script and art.
If anything despite some slightly overhyped madness here and there, it makes a refreshing change to see books like these grabbing the headlines, even if we disagree on whether they are that special.
They sure as hell are a whole bunch better than what was on offer when the term 'Hot Book'!! made me wanna shoot myself in the face way back when

I will however remain skeptical about the whole hype thing, i don't like to see people blowing $30 on a $2.99 book, it could mean 10+ other titles that truly deserve a look wont get hit up. It may be great for any retailer to get a monsterous mark up for less outlay, though as before, that can lead to less effort and a slippery slope on not pro actively selling much more new product for the same profit.
A big plus though is the buzz in general's felt and it creates happy waves in a harsh retail environment.
Morning Glories FTW !!!

There's a little bit of a feud with my crowd at the LCS and the chump that writes Li'l Depressed Boy. It helps that his comic sucks donkey balls but the dude was a chump before he ever was published.
This strange Image hype seems to be a tide that raises all ships.

Sorry dude missed this reply til now. Nah didn't get past the 1st arc. I just didn't get on with Morning Glories. I have a 1st print issue 1 but I seem to have missed the boat on that 1! It struck me as being too much mystery and evil cult and not enough actual story or character development.Draco wrote:Lol, did you get past the first story arc dude?ian_house wrote:To read? Chew is the only 1 of these series that I really loved despite the hype and its still going strong. Month in month out it is filled with amazing art, very different and perfect for the story. The narrative/concept are both original and entertaining with great touches of humour. Plus theres a luchador ninja chicken... how can you go wrong?!?!!!

I think Chew was the only one from the start that actually had something about it that stood out enough to keep growing.ian_house wrote:Sorry dude missed this reply til now. Being ever skeptical means i will always miss the boat once in a while on a hot book. As there were no available copies i couldnt give it a thumbs up, but once i read it i knew why it was so damn hot, where as others seem to be lacking in that final bit of magic, depsite being different to the rest of the shelf selection of new books.

Agreed. Chew is really the only one that struck a real chord in both the first issue and still manages to every single month.ian_house wrote:Chew is the only 1 of these series that I really loved despite the hype and its still going strong.
