I keep meaning to send Knightt a box of stuff to piggyback on the next load of stuff he sends to England. I've got several premium Lightning comics to send as well.

WOW!

Great score on those 99 books. I've sold many of them for $10-25 each in the past.

I got my lot in today. Lots of Riot Gear 1 Ashcans. The really cool thing about this lot was that I got quite a few consecutively serial numbered pairs and even one consecutively serial numbered hextuple. Some of the serial numbers are in the mid two digits. Neat stuff.

I received the lots listed below today. I am being entirely accurate when I say this was the worst packed large group of comics I have ever received in the mail. The box was used, reused and reused again as a shipping container. There were tears along two edges and the only thing that kept the contents together was the tape. What's worse, I think that somewhere along the line, someone used the box to pattern their shotgun. The comics did not come close to filling the entire box and he didn't even bother filling the box with loose paper. The comics were grouped together in groups of about 10 in folders (they looked like the kind of folders they give you at work with details about insurance plans) stapled shut. There were a couple of loose folders in the box but nowhere near enough.

Anyway, the 99 issues were even better than I had hoped. I think they are international editions. They are magazine sized with 11 different cover prices for countries from Kuwait to Morocco. I was thinking I had just found a third cover variant. I do already have an arabic language copy of an AK Comic but it is smaller than comic size. This is fascinating stuff.

good stuff, too bad about the shipping. Did it look like anything was damaged during shipping?

I once bought a huge lot of Valiant books, the guy threw them unbagged in a too big box, so all the book's pages shuffled together like a deck of cards. A ton of the stuff was damaged. I'm sure I gave the guy a neg, don't recall as it was a while ago. I still got a decent deal, though as the price was cheap enough.

For the moment, I am thinking I will withhold feedback, give neither a negative nor a positive. I sent the guy a message last night and he sent a response basically saying he wasn't expecting anyone to buy up nearly 100 issues and that was the only box that he could find. He said he was trying to keep costs down. This probably could have fit very easily in two priority boxes and maybe even one. It doesn't look like too much was damaged in shipping but this books were obviously not NM when he put them in the box either.

Picked up another one.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

Continum Comics 1, first appearance of Dawn and very, very early Linsner work. I paid $11 shipped and this is normally a $40+ book.

I guess now I can start going after the rest of Continum now that I got the big dog out of the way.

Not sure that one is worthy of an eyeroll, many people know it's a tough book and if someone wants it bad enough, that price might be fair. Here's one to really roll your eyes about, a copy of the trade paperback with a $189 Buy It Now:

I would have thrown in a bid if I didn't find mine last month.

That $189 auction for the trade is too funny.

As much as I am dying to have this book so that I can finally be at 100% on Broadway (yes men, I have a 'Miracle on Broadway'), I would have a hard time pulling the trigger on this one.

Very tempting but eh, not this month.

You were at the Lehigh Valley Con? Didn't see you!

Amusing addendum to this, the same seller who had the Epicurus the Sage books at this show was at the Philly show today. Doorman bought a set from him in Allentown...well, he had another copy of #1 and I again asked him how much, this time he said $10.

I said "no thanks" and walked away. The funny thing was his second copy of #1 was even more beat up than the ones I passed on for $3.
