Neal Adams' Blood

Post by Knightt »

Well it looks like we will finally see the story that Neal Adams wrote and drew many years ago (I think we have seen a few pages of it on the net here and there, at least I have... not sure if the Continuity Comics message board is still going uh... strong but I think that I saw it there or there was a link posted) will finally see PRINT.

http://www.dcbservice.com/category.aspx?id=1&pid=342248

It is to be printed in the revamped Dark Horse Presents. Might be worth picking up but I can't see the $7.99 price tag (even though DCBS can score it for you at $3.99 which is a bit easier to chew).

Might be worth picking up as it highlights art drawn by Neal when he was not a conductor on Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train. (I tell ya, I HAD to put down Batman The Oddessy that Neal drew not too long ago after issue #3, not only has the art suffered but he WROTE it as well... Batman on crack) (his former work on Batman, Green Lantern and Green Arrow are bar none THE best works on the three heroes that I have ever seen)

Might be interesting to read Blood though...

Didn't Deathwatch 2000 end? Wasn't it Rise of Magic that was unfinished?

Maybe I am wrong here. Maybe I got my wires crossed somewhere.

As far as "Continuity Comics" is concerned, the kicker for me when TRYING to read these books is to find SOME kind of 'continuity'. Love that art but where to find a story in all of it to actually verify that either stories were finished is beyond me !!! haha

To find an old quote on a 'blog' speaking to these books...
Ah, Continuity Studios. Proof that massive quantities of premium grade weed and superhero comics do not mix.
WAIT... I think that I just figured it out. I need 'massive quantities of premium grade weed' in order to read these comics !!!

DOH !!!

NOW if I could just find one of those Megalith #0 red foil books, I would be set... I have looked high and low for it to no avail. And I thought finding a Malibu Genesis #0 Chromium Red was TOUGH.

Neither Ended - Last chapter of Deathwatch 2000 was Cyberrad 2000 #3 - never released. Rise of magic never got 1/3 the way published.

Nope - Cyberrad was intended to be part 20.

Check out the link - the guy was an avid Continuity hater but he listed solicitations and how late they were in being released. The Deathwatch titles are listed as (DW) - take note after Earth 4 #3 (DW 19)

Last year there was a Hybrids No Foil that sold for under 10 bucks - I have only seen a Megalith No Foil once in person. Guy wanted 20.00 for it at a comic shop I happened to be passing through.

Hybrids & Megalith Deathwatch 2000 0 were released red and silver foil - there are also errors of both where there is no foil on either. Below is an example of one.

I can have Spyda Adams jumping up and down on a table in 20 minutes telling me that there was 'NO Megalith #0 Red Foil' as well as the Diamond Cyberad TPB !!!

He is really emphatic about the TPB but not as sure about the Red Foil... I am sure a error issue would be easier to believe, I guess.

There is a Cyberrad Diamond TPB -- I used to own one then divorce took a helluva toll on my comic collection.

Yes, a couple of us were able to find copies within a year of each other. Fantastic addition to my collection.

I have been blessed in that way (and others, News at 11) over the years.

My Continuity collection is focused solely on CyberRad (although I'd like to get the Captain Power books too). That TPB and one of the #1 variants (can't recall which volume and which variant right now) are the only things I'm missing. I think.

You're right about the "lack of continuity," Knightt! I remember trying to read Deathwatch 2000 when it was coming out and being completely lost with each chapter. It was like jumping into the middle of a completely different story each time.

Why yes it was, bro. You can't beat that kind of deal especially on something we had been looking for as long and hard as this one. I had begun to think that these TPBs were a fluke. Not nearly as the demand for these TPBs as are the Diamond Unity TPBs. Did we ever get a print run on the Cyberrad TPBs ? (I am betting that if I look on the back cover it is there, right ? LOL)
