I re-read X-O Manowar during the last month

Post by FrankCastleAZ »

And loved most of it.

SPOILERS AHEAD-----------

#27 - Turok and Aric randomly walking thru his yard found a tunnel that led them to Spider Aliens (lame....)

#28 - X-O Armor destroyed (had big potential, seemed too easy)

#30 - Liked the new X-O armor via Paul, but how the seed was found (Solar finding a random seed on an armor elsewhere in galaxy could have been more epic and seemed more important/difficult. Entire arc could have been constructed around it)

#37-#41 - Wolfbridge Affair - Was one of my least favorite arcs. Could have had more creativity for a 5 issue arc.

#44-#47 - Birthquake - Oh where do I start. Marz's writing of the plot was good, but I had a HUGEEEE problem with killing off Randy and Ken, as I believe they were both huge keys to the X-O book and the future. Sears' art was amazing (as was his run on Turok) and I have a passion for his art. So I have a love/hate relationship with Birthquake.

#49-#50s - Aric vs Paul - Great art by Sears and Smith, story okay at best

#63-67 - WTF is this *SQUEE*

#68 - Worst comic book ending of all time.

I loved this series despite multiple problems with it, but the last 15 issues were a real struggle to get thru.

I tried the NEW X-O, but wouldn't read past issue 3 because it has ZERO bit of what made the original X-O so good.

Dunno if you guys agree or disagree, but I hope I haven't offended anyone. :-P

X-O bike anyone???...beuller???

I personally thought Sears art in Birthquake almost became a caricature of what he originally started as though...completely over done

Sad when you think about how great the title was compared to the train wreck it degraded into towards the end.

I thought the Master Darque issues were not bad.
The rest of the Birthquake and "After-birth quake" *snicker* was embarrassing.

Agreed. I will always feel that # 64 is a classic issue.
