Just doing my part to help save the enviroment.....GREEN packing materials. Recycle, re-use!JonesyAZ wrote:Yes, and I was the one who received this package. HILARIOUS!!!!! Lol...HaloReach2010 wrote:Thanks, Dan.![]()
Now I dont have to dig these out to check!
I usually use Deathmate books as padding when shipping small packages, just used some recently, so I didnt have the DM books on hand...!
At least one positive thing came out of Liefield's career.

So...... What is the proper reading order of this? I started with the previews and then read the Prologue and then Yellow and Blue. I read them that way because that is the order that MOTA "Mr. Continuity" posted the order, but it's obviously not right.
I'm hoping for an actual reading order in addition to answers like "I wipe with Deathmate from front to back".

No, it's not. No matter how you read them. I think the basic idea is to first read the prologue, then the previews, then each of the four issues by themselves, regardless of the others, then the epilogue.400yrs wrote:it's obviously not right.
Let's see:
Green is before Blue.
Pink leads directly to Yellow
Yellow is mainly in the same world as Blue.
Blue leads directly to epilogue.
Black is before epilogue in its own world.
Red is in its own world.
Anyone find anything else? Could be a game, "make sense of Deathmate". Take a shot everytime you find a connection between the stories of Deathmate and leave the party sober.

That sounds right that they prologues lead right into the yellow and blue. I need to flip those 4 again to see if I can make sense out of the story. That's all I've read so far (and the prologue).
The stories themselves, although they are not coherent, they aren't that horrendous either. They just aren't Valiant at all even though it's the regular Valiant writers. The characters are all voiced very differently.
Other than making a ton of money, I'm not sure why they even did this mini at all.

I challenge you to read Deathmate Red and revisit this statement.400yrs wrote:That sounds right that they prologues lead right into the yellow and blue. I need to flip those 4 again to see if I can make sense out of the story. That's all I've read so far (and the prologue).

I give up on this after every issue but for some odd reason, IU 3 (shipped MONTHS late) got me excited for this title again only to fall off the publishing schedule yet again.JonesyAZ wrote:HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Can we say..."Image United?" Lol...Drift wrote:The most significant thing to happen in Deathmate was that it finished. At the time, this was almost unprecedented for a limited series that Image was involved in.

You used the words: "Deathmate" and "right" in the same sentence.
There's your problem.

Okay, now you seem to be getting worse. We are never going to make any progress if you continue down this path. In addition to the word "right" you have added "sense" to your statements regarding Deathmate.400yrs wrote:That sounds right that they prologues lead right into the yellow and blue. Yeah, I decided that it wasn't worth the time to go back and flip those again. I do plan to read red, black and epilogue fairly soon though.dave wrote:Okay, now you seem to be getting worse. Deathmate did but suck
In general, I agree with everyone else here. I think that it would have been a lot better if they had kept the characters the same and had them actually meet the counterparts, rather than trying to "mix" the Valiant and Unity characters.
It was just a bad idea that, not surprisingly, didn't work.
