Magnus 1 Dollar Issue, Any Info?

Anyone got any info on this? I have no idea if this is going to be on shelves like a regular book, what the print run might be nothin! Any info appreciated, thanks.

It is part of Dark Horse' "Dollar for 1" or whatever series.

It's a regular comic. It is a reprint of GK Magnus 1.

I doubt there will be any on the shelf at my comic shop but that is just because of the shop. The owner orders very conservatively.

I wonder why they are reprinting GK magnus 1 again, it was in the back of the first issue?

I haven't looked at the sales stats on ICv2, but I suspect that with both the Image Comics and Dark Horse Comics select introductory issues they're getting new/different readers to try them.

Hence reprinting Sin City when they've just put out new trades, too, etc.

Yeah it's just a bit of a shame that a 40-50 year old comic doesn't see light of day for 15+ years but then is reprinted twice in two months. Just seems they could have gone with a different (standalone) issue or something.

They did not reprint the entire GK Magnus 1 - just the origin story. Same with Solar, GK Doctor Solar 1 is a Double Doctor Solar Story. What does it mean?

I have one saved in my pull file at my LCS (only getting Doctor Solar, Magnus and Project Superpower at this time) and it was a freakin' trashed copy. My LCS owner said I could take it and be charged for it or wait for the reorder... same reorder that was supposed to get me a Magnus #1 variant cover. Yeah like THAT happened.

So, that leaves me with needing one... does anybody have an extra they want to sell ?

MY LCS (Earth 2 Comics) in Northridge, CA did not order any copies because they did not have any when I went on Thursday this week.

I did pick up Magnus #1 and Dr Solar #2.

$3.50 x 2 plus CA tax = $7.68 Ouch! for 2 comics!!!!

Yeah man, but 'these books' are pretty darn thick and I think you will find them worth your money and time.

I am going to dive into Doctor Solar #2 tonight... I can't wait.

Is it on your "next shipment" list or the "unshipped items" list. The first being in stock and waiting to ship, the second being that you ordered it but they don't have it yet. They don't have a copy for me, yet. And unless they can reorder the book (and specifically the variant) they won't. The only time dcbs has missed a book for me was Crossed #3 and they still haven't gotten a reorder to get me that book (well over a year ago).

It's in the 'My Unshipped Items' section, along with 9 other titles. Odd that the only thing they shipped out of everything in my last order was 2 copies of the regular Magnus #1.

I will take you up on that, D. I picked up one from my LCS today and low and behold it STILL has a spine crease even after the girl was apologetic saying that she had 'picked the best one she could find'. "Odd" how this LCS always, always gets dinged up comics in their shipments.
