I felt that the whole DHH line was equal with the big two. Loved X & thought Catalyst was REALLY underrated for the very idea!xodacia81 wrote:You like the CGW/DHH books? Nice choice, but I still think Ghost & X outdid W2P, although it was a great story, especially when you get the Titan Special as well as the Catalyst & OOTV epilogues.OmenSpirits.com wrote:Nexus.

Hajime No Ippo (japanese manga and still going!).

I think X lost a lot in terms of sales because Saltare's art just couldn't match either Mahnke's or Chris Warner's even though Steven Grant's writing was never less than stellar. I was soooo *SQUEE* when they forced what was obviously another year or so worth of story into those final 4 issues. Catalyst wasn't bad, but the title I think doesn't get any credit in that line is Motorhead. Chichester & Waller did some excellent work and the Bisley covers didn't hurt it, either. Too bad most of the books in that line, especially Agents of Law (the followup to Catalyst) didn't get the finishes they deserved.OmenSpirits.com wrote:I felt that the whole DHH line was equal with the big two. KT had a 2 pt crossover with Motorhead. You should try finding it if you haven't read it yet. Also had some great appearances in both volumes of Ghost. I really wish they'd bring those characters back, too.OmenSpirits.com wrote:Total agreement. Granted. I see where he's coming from, though, because is TWD ever going to have a different writer? I mean, the closest you can come to a "run" would be "early" TWD, before Adlard became the artist. It's sort of like pre Bob Hall Shadowman. His "run" is what everyone remembers. OR, at the least, is there a good section, 7 issues or more, that stands out above all else within the series? For me, Fables best run was volumes 3-6.400yrs wrote:Sure. They are continuous stories.ian_house wrote:Is it fair to call entire titles like Y and Walking Dead runs?

I recently read the first and second HC collections of that and I enjoyed the first collection more than the second, although the latter had some good stuff. I think what I liked the most was how you could "feel" the maturation of the book and the epic changes Moore was creating within the characters.Jay Tomio wrote:Today, I'd probably say Moore's Swamp Thing.

If you like the crossovers with Ghost, ever try Ghost/Hellboy?OmenSpirits.com wrote:Hey, thanks! Just located them.xodacia81 wrote:KT had a 2 pt crossover with Motorhead. Ghost was cool, until the CGW went under and only left her out in the cold without that universe. Ghost/Shadow was good.

I didnt really like how Morpheus dies and then DC essentially never uses Daniel at all in any books. I just did not think that the book had great closure, it just seemed unfinished and rather abrupt.xodacia81 wrote:For Sandman, you mean The Wake or Kindly ones? I like Kindly ones and I think The Wake has some tremendously powerful stuff in there, especially with Hob. As for 100 Bullets...yeah, that's a great series. Along with Fables, Y, Preacher & Sandman, it's in my top ten.maraxusofkeld wrote:Gaiman's Sandman was great until the last arc. Obvious Bryne/Claremont X-men run, 100 bullets !

I've heard that Gaiman has had some control, believe it or not, in terms of the use of Daniel and the rest of The Endless.maraxusofkeld wrote:I didnt really like how Morpheus dies and then DC essentially never uses Daniel at all in any books.
