Who is the most popular Non-top tier comic character?
So not counting the "biggies": Supes, Bats, WW, Spider, Hulk, Wolvie, Cap, Joker, (maybe Green Lantern now)....
Who is the most popular non-top tier comic character? Not necessarily your favorite, but the overall most popular?
Thoughts?

There is a pretty strong case for Deadpool.Jay Tomio wrote:If we exclude licensed properties in comics, I'd say right now Deadpool.
EDIT - My answer is also based on the assumption we are talking about in the U.S. and not in the world, and that we are talking about comic characters that are actually still being published (semi) regularly in comic book form.
I'd say on the DC side the counterpart would be Harley Quinn.

I am not a Marvel or DC guy, but it seems that Harley Quinn is super popular.

I always remembered Harley fondly from Batman: the Animated Series and am following her continuing adventures in Gotham City Sirens. I first guessed I was severely underestimating her popularity this year at SDCC when I saw all the Harley costumes.Elveen wrote:She is the reason I was asking.Chiclo wrote:There is a pretty strong case for Deadpool.Jay Tomio wrote:If we exclude licensed properties in comics, I'd say right now Deadpool.

I am sure that has something to do with why you posted this thread. There were probably more Harleys running around than any other costume.

I personally hate the character but Deadpool is definitely the most popular non top tiered character. Who else can support 5+ books a month? No one.Chiclo wrote:There is a pretty strong case for Deadpool.Jay Tomio wrote:If we exclude licensed properties in comics, I'd say right now Deadpool.
