In ICC 10/25 with 3 of my 80's. Guild's at 6 out of 12 bosses for that raid.

I'll sadly state that I fell off the wagon after a year and a half of being sober from WoW only to discover that I have NO clue what's going on anymore. My server's Stormwind is a ghost town and everywhere I have traveled so far has only had one or two people walking around. The new dungeon friend finder thing is awesome, though.

Dalaran is the newest major city. Stormwind is for the Auction House and trainers. As is Ironforge. No one ever used Expdar and Darnassus anyways. Some reason they decided to put no trainers and auction house in Dalaran. There is an AH if you are an engineer I guess.Unblessed wrote:Guess you haven't made it to Dalaran yet.etos45 wrote:

The dungeon finder is interesting. I don't know how many people I have had to ignore though. Mainly tanks for being *SQUEE*. Just last night I had to ignore some crappy dps for mouthing off. Did less than 1k on an 80.

I initiate a kick party member. That doesn't work, I leave. Yeah, I lead damage done. Duh. But I am not going to carry you because you have greens and haven't made an effort to improve your gear. Oh and you want to farm (skin, mine, herb) instead of stick with the group? Yeah. KICK.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote: Just last night I had to ignore some crappy dps for mouthing off. That's how I felt about the dps mouthing off. He said some comment at the begining and I told him not to worry, I would carry him. After one of the boss fights I made the comment, See? I told you I would. He said I didnt. I kindly linked damage. My 6k to his 1.2k. He didnt like that.

I don't mind the Murloc movie refs, Chuck Norris stuff, Pokemon stuff, LFG stuff... Ok, guilty. I do cause some of those wars. Why?
Because it's the people trying to flex their epeen and emuscles that bug me. Seriously people, come on.

Is Dalaran part of TLK? I only have up until the Burning Crusades until I hit a level that is worthy.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote: Dalaran is the newest major city. My big complaint with the Dungeon finder is that those guy take the game WAY to seriously. I've been playing all day (night) and they get SO *SQUEE* because I'm not "geared" right for a healer. I try to tell these guys that I just came back and I'm having to relearn the game and they just get so *SQUEE*. I'm the one keeping them alive and all they want to do is *SQUEE* because I didn't heal as fast as they'd like.
I'm sure you guys will side with them because of your 80s, but I just think some civility would be nice. I'm trying and willing to learn, I would just prefer pointers to complaints.
To be fair though, there have been a few kind souls to throw a tip my way here and there.
I just can't wait to top out so that I can finally do some of the raids and MAYBE keep up.

http://www.raider101.com Read it, get smart, spec for RAIDS, not groups. Get gear for your toon with the stats listed for your class and spec.
Get Curse - program
Get Healbot - addon
Get Decurse - addon
Staying in BC after your hit level 68 is a waste. You make levels 68, 69, and 70 super fast in Northrend (WotLK).
Then WIN.
PS - sub lvl 80 gear is just crap. Focus on getting to 80 faster. Gear happens. Hit 80. THEN get get. That's not to say wait for lvl 80 stuff to drop. Craft and get stuff ready for yourself.
PPS - Leveling in the Outlands goes like this: Stay in Hellfire doing quests and dungeons until lvl 61. Then go to Zangramarsh. Stay in the marsh until lvl 63/64-ish. Then hit Tek Forest. Stay there until lvl 65. AT LEVEL 65 GO TO NAGRAND. You should do most, if not all of the quests in Nagrand and that will take you to lvl 67.5 at least. If you are not lvl 68 after Nagrand, go to Blade's Edge. Stay in Blade's Edge until lvl 68. At lvl 68, drop your BC quests and old grey quests and go to Northrend (WotLK expansion).
PPPS - do not spend gold on gear in the AH, UNTIL you are near lvl 80. Save your gold for FLYING and EPIC FLYING and COLD WEATHER FLYING. Those three skills make things go super duper faster.

I don't know much about your toon but if you are a healer, either dual spec a dps spec to make questing easier or just solely do dungeons. Questing as a healer takes a helluva lot longer.Unblessed wrote:http://www.raider101.com Read it, get smart, spec for RAIDS, not groups. I never buy gear. How easy is it once you hit 80 to do random heroics and have all your triumph gear. Then go put the newer ICC dungeons on form. BAM! Raid geared.
Beware of gearscore... It's the *SQUEE* bible on WoW for some people. I went into ICC as well as some other people I know solely in 232 gear and smashed the place. Of course with a 30% buff....

Takes time to get back into the game. As long as people arent wiping constantly, there is not an issue.etos45 wrote:Is Dalaran part of TLK? Wow...just wow... that is some great tips! I'm going to have to find my way to the Outlands. I am doing a lot of dungeons right now because the gear drops have been helpful and the xp has been much better. The people today were more chill too which makes it better.Unblessed wrote:http://www.raider101.com Read it, get smart, spec for RAIDS, not groups. Not trying to threadcap, but I did want to caution about using Curse's automatic downloader. I know alot of people use it, but its not a very secure program. There is suspicion that it helped perpetuate the man in the middle attacks that were circumventing blizzard authenticators, but I cannot confirm or deny that. Not blaming curse either, but some friends of mine that do computer programming have suggested I stay away from it. It's ok to download the addons manually, just don't use the curse downloaded and updater.Unblessed wrote: Get Curse - program
I download the majority of my addons from Wow interface. I would also highly recommend buying and using an authenticator. Man in the middle attacks are rare, and authenticators are only $6 for a lot of security and peace of mind.

Looking like November 2nd. Patch 4.0.1 on the PTR's right now with new talent trees. Looking forward to what will happen leading up to cataclysm.
Ignore kids in the dungeon finder. Play as you like. You're doing the right thing in looking for intellect and spell power, but if I remember correctly that's hard to find on leveling plate in vanilla anyway. Even hard to find on mail.etos45 wrote: I play a healer Paladin on Ysera. Name is Etos. I'm trying to get my gear focused more on spell and intellect, but it's taking time.
I would definitely keep cruising as you are. If you're primarily soloing I would just go ret and mow over everything to 80. If you enjoy dungeons then staying holy is the way to go.
NINJA EDIT: Looking at your paper doll on wow armory - I see why they criticize you. You're wearing alot of cloth and leather, which carries the stats you need for your spec because there just isn't any spellpower plate out there in vanilla. Once you get to outland itemization will get better. In WoTLK, when sp plate drops, you'll be the only person who can use it

Mouthbreathers won't recognize you're trying to itemize for your spec. I went through the same crap in BC as a shadow priest. Everyone wanted me to heal and I refused. Now I top dmg charts and make pure cloth dps classes like mages and warlocks look like they forgot how to play.
