Anyone have a Magnus 1 review to make, or have any links to reviews of Magnus 1?

This seems to bode well for our hero in the go-go boots.

Just finished Magnus #1 and really enjoyed it. I thought it was better than Solar #1 (which I liked a lot even though the reviews were bad). I am not going to say anything else except enjoy.

One more thing. My LCS had a lot more issues of Magnus #1, than they did of Solar #1. I would say that they had about 30-35 issues of magnus (two were the variant that they were selling at cover). The Solar #1 I would say they had about 15-20 (5 five were variants selling at cover). Per my LCS guy all of the Solar's were sold out the first day, so I can't wait to hear if the Magnus's sell out.

I just went to my LCS and bought a copy of both covers. It really surprised me, 'cuz they already labeled the "variant" cover with a $4.99 price tag! I still purchased it (lol), but I wonder if the Turok book will go up in price as well when released?

It's all good; DEFINITELY take your time, as I know y'all are busy, busy, busy!!!

I'm doing everything I can to hold off reading too many opinions of this book until I get the chance to read it, hopefully tonight :)

I thought it was pretty good, but it very much needed to lose the chunk of exposition where Magnus gets told things he already knows, but which we the audience don't yet.

Also, why in the world does Leeja blow his secret identity on air?

"Also, why in the world does Leeja blow his secret identity on air?"

I thought that bit was kinda neat and unexpected, shows her to be pretty independent. Setting herself up as bait, shows she is gonna be tough and spunky. To me thats better than always being the damsel in distress.

Just read the issue for the first time.

I'm not going to say anything about the story, to save on spoilers.

But I can confidently say that this issue was an absolute BLAST! I was very happy with this read.

Can't wait to read more!!!

It's a trap!

She's trying to get herself kidnapped and make herself as high-profile as she can to the kidnappers.

Leeja's outfits are even sluttier than the Gold Key version.

Yeah, it's a trap, but it's one thing to take risks herself, it's another to put other people at risk. Magnus kept a secret ID because not having one (or so he believes) is dangerous. Endangering him is totally irresponsible--what's to prevent the next robot villain from sending a flunky full of explosives to blow up his apartment? At least when Lana Lang and Lois Lane tried to find Superman's identity in the Silver Age, they didn't also announce plans to publish a front page Daily Planet article telling everyone what it is.

It had it's moments of dragging, but overall very enjoyable story.

Plusses- Lots of nice action scenes. Solid art, lots of details and great backgrounds. Great robot designs. Lots of story and set-up (How does Shooter fit so much into 22 pages?). Both covers are excellent and worth buying. Leeja and Cinette in lingere :thumb:

Minuses- Shooter tries to fit so much into the issue, that the heavy exposition bogs down the story at times when this artist could carry more things using visual only. I hope it will get better in future issues when there is less to explain and they are more comfortable working together. Tomato? :tomato: hehe kidding I actually like Magnus' red cat
