Just scoring a BEAUTIFUL COPY of The Visitor vs the Valiant Universe #1 newsstand, a so so #2 newsstand a #11 newsstand and a Ninjak 'some number', I will clarify those numbers when I get them out of the box. Tomorrow is a big comic book work day for me. (and heck, I don't even collect newsstand copies, especially after I traded a short stack to a board member years ago). I got them from the Uncle or Cousin of a Soldier I Served with years ago... got a nice letter as well, I should find that and share it. It is just a VERY nice showing of appreciation of someone I didn't even know for something I did YEARS ago.

that right there is what we call, "hittin the motherload".

Good for you.
I owe thanks to this board. Before I started reading these forums I hadn't paid much attention to the acclaim books. My heart skipped a little when I started pulling them out and got to the volume 3 books. There was also a volume 1 # 43 in there which I needed too.

I just got in THE X-O Manowar statue that was on Bob Layton's desk so many years ago. That is probably my best VALIANT deal of late.

Next to my other statues for comparison.

I am REALLY happy to own a great piece of VALIANT history.

Do you think I should bring it down one shelf with the minibusts so it does not look so small against my full sized statues or keep it where it is ?

Yeah, keep it at the top; below I think it would get lost—it has to be kept in a more prominent space. Awesome purchase!

Not as cool as Knights recent addition, but...
Just picked up the following

Walking Dead HC 1 1st print for $15

Wolverine - Old Man Logan, all but 70 and 72 (even a variant of 68)

Wolverine 188 and 189, the last two issues of the 88 series

All for a buck each.

Keeping it where it is, but letting it stand on something (in marble or similar) would be nice.

it does look a little small against the others. u should install a new shelf and keep it higher than the rest. problem solved.

Knightt, congrats on the X-O statue. I see you're trying to re-create the battle scene in your favorite Valiant crossover - X-O Manowar / Iron Man. :P

Believe me, old Friend... this piece has one of the places of honor in my statue collection. I will be reducing my 'villain' collection here sometime soon.

But this X-O piece... dude, I cannot tell you how happy I am about it. My wife, Shannon even recognized a noticeable difference in my demeanor after putting this up on the shelf. PLEASE don't think I am bragging... I am just expressing my 'happiness' over having it. I am actually very humbled by the whole thing.

I am thinking about making a slightly taller stand (stained block of wood to match the wall unit) to raise the statue up to at least the point where I can make out the "X-O" as I stand there and look at it. I do not want to drop the statue down a shelf because yes, it will get lost in the 'busy' of the collection.

HA... I never noticed that either. Totally unintentional, I swear.
