I thought we could do a book a day (that way people can read one every day or catch up on weekends), talk about it on its own, in the context of whats next, in regards to what expectations it creates and vote on how good it is. I don't have to be the one that posts everyday. If I miss a day or if someone wants to take over please do

For voting think of your single favourite comic book (not just VALIANT) as the benchmark - thats a 10 - and grade according to that.

The voting (I'm hoping) will help new readers make more educated descisions. If this turkey files maybe we can even do a list of the books according to average voting grade.

Make sure to mention what you like'd about the book, what you didn't, what you wish they would have done, your favourite panels, lines of dialogue, little bits of trivia etc.

It must be an intentional joke to call the prosecutor and defence lawyer Stella and Stanley? Sometimes Shadowman balances a bit on the limit with the humour. But always lands right. Having Steve Massarsky in the comic (and the Terminator) were also risky touches that worked. Not too slow despite all the court scenes. It is also interesting to see how Jack behaves when it's sundown in this issue. Like lat issue it's a good stand-alone issue despite being part of a storyline. Nice coloring troughout this issue btw.

Wonderful issue.

We finally get the much needed return of Max and Sandria for one of the strangest sex scenes ever. We also finally get the return of Master Darque (sorta).

The trail of jack Bonifachas some really priceless dailog from the witnesses and I loved the "blah, blah, blah" thing with the lawyers :). Massarasky was a nice inside joke for old fans.

The ritual to take away Shadowman was cool as was his return because of Darque (remember that connection they extablished back during Chaos Effect? Told ya it would be important :) ). One odd thing though is that Nettie took away Jack's craziness at night AND his powers. I guess they're simplifying things for new readers by not mentioning the two aren't connected (the spider alien bite hasn't been mentioned since issue 0). But since Nettie doesn't specifically say she's undoing what she did to Jack, I guess it's kind of a all purpose blanket spell to make Jack notmal at night.

Oh, and the mistrial was priceless too :) . Did they mean for the judge to look like Don Perlin?

Anyway, good stuff. An 8.

I just read issues 41-43 last night, and I had to comment on what I felt was an obvious caricature of Don Perlin as the judge (his name is even Donald Pearl in the book...lol).

Hilarious!
