Re-reading X-O Manowar
I don't have the complete run but over the last few weeks I sat down to re-read those issues I had read ages ago and the issues I'd picked up but just never read.
Recently released X-O 0-6, 7, 12-27, 29-32, 39, 41-42, 45, 48, 50-o, 54-55, 61, 63, 65-66
I probably didn't to list the entire list off, but I figured in case I missed anything important I could get informed I did. Otherwise, truly the writing was pretty poor after Unity, painful after 32 and unreadable by Birthquake. This is some truly illogical tripe.
I have started reading (for the first time) Acclaims reboot of X-O and it is still pretty comicbooky, but not horrid. Its only been 3 issues though. The X-O concept is interesting, sorta reminds me of Supreme Power and Doctor Spectrum with the way the X-O (crystal) merged with its host.

I know this thread is a few months old, but, I'm reading XO for the first time (i read issues 1-10 in the 90's). I'm at issue 54 now and I feel like I can't go on..... What did they do!
The early issues were excellent. I didn't mind XO up until birthquake.
Should I go on? There isn't any dialogue in these latter issues!

But, yes you need to read until the very end.

Oh lord...the three words that mortify any XO fan, lol. But, yes, as 'Veen says, you must "Read" the rest of the series. Believe it or not, the last 5 issues have a few fleeting moments, particularly #64.

The Master Darque appearance was nice, for sure. Except, Paul Gulacy's art in issue 64 was just atrocious compared to his other work Could have been the inking or coloring or something.Daniel Jackson wrote:Yeah, at least that part was readable I suppose. The rest is pure dreck.iggy101us wrote:I like the late Master Darque appearance.
I have to admit though; I really dug issue 66 which seems to be a "wrapping up" story by Bo' Blayton...lol. I felt all warm inside for some reason seeing the appearance of Dr. Mirage in this story.
I have already read issue 68, so I know where everything is going.
...and the feeling I have is so similar to how I felt reading the final issues of Shadowman and Magnus...
