Now I wonder if we can find a pic of the alternate cover in a bag?
I guess that settles that then.
Good work Bro J.
So at least you can grab em now if the price isnt too high and that they actually carry stock.

I wouldn't trust Mile High to send you the bagged one, though. They don't have them listed separately. I don't have a bagged one with the "Prototype on top" cover, so I would be interested to see if there was one.Draco wrote:depluto wrote:Thanks Bro J. Well, I'm not sure what the ashcan (limited edition) is supposed to be. There is the regular Prime Ashcan:depluto wrote:About those Prime ashcans ... are there four or five?
I know of four: Ashcan (Limited edition), Ashcan (Comics Cavalcade), Ashcan (Sega CD), Ashcan 6th Annual Capital City Sales Conference.
Is there another?
Then there is the gold version of this that was only available through Comics Cavalcade. There was also a version of the Comics Cavalcade Gold Ashcan signed by the artist, but I wouldn't count that as a separate version.
Then the Sega CD ashcan, and the Capital City Sales Conference Ashcan. Those are the only four I am aware of.
Yeah, like I said... four.
(ok ok I will correct the list, hehehe UNLESS someone can show me an extra). I went to Big Tels site and found nothing new. How I wish I could convince him to update that but what we should really do is try to 'capture' that website for our purposes. I'd bet that he has totally forgotten about it and someday all of that precious information will be gone.
Does anybody know how to do webcapture ? If anything, I think I have enough space on my server to host it.
Anyone ?

For those Ultraverse and Malibu and Bravura collectors, here is one of the best sites out there for the 'Malibu variants' but by no means is it complete. I and others on this board have requested 'Big Tel' to update his website with (a pretty nice number) variants that we have uncovered over the years. I think I have discovered only two, anybody else discover any that should have been added ?

My all time Ultraverse variant cover is Prime #4 (one has Prime defeating Prototype and the other has Prototype defeating Prime).
I asked Tom Mason a long time ago what was their strategy for doing variant covers and he told me that 'we had no rhyme or reason to do a variant cover. Once in a while we would have an additional cover concept and just went with it. Seeing as how we were leading the industry in coloring our products digitally, we could whip one up in no time."

Kinda surprised to see this go for $87 to a zero feedback bidder.

Only thing worth going crazy for in there is the Prime Gold. I guess it's a decent price if you're just starting out on Ultraverse, with three golds and some other tough books.

I dont have a single silver or gold holo, as they just dont pop up in the UK.
BOLLOX !!!
I can get a hold of just about all the silver holos, i you need them. Would have to double check the condition. The silver holos/Birth of the Defiant Universe deal that I got was filled with many holo issues with NO spine damage, Prototype just had a little ding. I will be replacing my old holos with these and will have extras 'about four or five'. The LCS has a few bundled with (I believe) one silver holo, first few issues and I think the Ultra 5000s. Can't vouch for the condition of the books at this time. I will try and stop in there over the 'three day weekend'. I am FUMING about this, my company does not observe 'Veteran's Day' (which is also my birthday) but there are big dinners, socializing events, and a ribbon cutting ceremoney today in preparation of Monday's holiday. Granted he did many positive things for EVERY race and I respect that, but my company NOT observing Veteran's Day ? 98% of our business structure is retired military or have served at least 10 years. The other 2% did a 15-20 stint in college.
NOTE: I am more upset with NOT observing Veteran's Day than Mondays Holiday.
Here is another thing that just ticks me off, when I go to a resteraunt of some store and it has posted, 'We offer military discounts', which are usually 10-15%, I pull out my card and I get the 'no sir, this is for active duty... I reply, well I guess my 20 years of active duty and official retirement are for nothing then.

Except now it has a reserve of $75.

I think Ryan McLelland posted the first auction on the boards and said it was his.depluto wrote:Dude just reposted that auction that was won by a zero feedback bidder yesterday.

Could be crediting that to the wrong guy that shows up every so rarely.

It is Ryans stuff.
At 200 books for 25c each its not too bad when you add the Holo and few other premium books.
I mean if you are a cheapskate though Knightt cough cough then sure its way too much.
If i were based in the US i would buy for that much if i were looking to kill a big chunk off a good sized DU though.
I found a few holos finally and am hoping they are NM as described.
The Ultraverse holos really show up dings and such dont they, making them look very undesirable if not in tip top shape.

Oh sure, keep it up Draco and I just might add a nice solid 'Arizona turd sausage' to your box(es) and then ship them slow boat via China... should be a nice aroma embedded into every issue by the time they get to you.Draco wrote:Knightt cough cough
I may be cheap but I got the books, eh ? You can do it the easy way or the hard way and yes, I have been quoted... I like it hard.
Don't let patience be confused as being a cheap skate.
I've learned a few things during my time in the Army, like patience, how to sit VERY still for hours on end and also how to crap in a bag without getting any on the your buddy laying next to you in that hidey hole you've been in for 30 days which is about 2,500 meters away from the enemy.

Part of the reason I find collecting Ultraverse so appealing is specifically because I am a cheapskate.Draco wrote:Chiclo wrote:I think Ryan McLelland posted the first auction on the boards and said it was his.depluto wrote:Dude just reposted that auction that was won by a zero feedback bidder yesterday.
