I got my WD comp. WOW, it is sure a big book. I have a few other things that I want to read first, then I am going to tackle that book.

After all I have heard about it, I am looking forward to it.

I read the Walking Dead in one sitting (well...spaced out over two days) and I envy you reading this for the first time, Christian.

It lost me after....well....I don't want to spoil it for you....but for those first 50 or so issues I simply couldn't stop reading them. :thumb:

I got the Walking Dead Compendium for myself this last week. It arrived on Thursday, and between the past two days, I've read the entire thing. What an amazing story!

It's pure character study in a backdrop of what I consider one of the greatest survival scenarios ever. It doesn't hurt that Night of the Living Dead is one of my favorite films ever and Kirkman keeps hitting those similar beats, but on an ongoing scale.

When they say no one is safe, no one is safe. There's no way I'm going to be able to wait for more of this, I'm going to have to get the trades of volumes 9 and 10 and other subsequent volumes.

Finally. :thumb:

I'm still shocked that all comic readers haven't read it yet.

Vol 11 comes out this week. Pick up those 3 trades and issues 67 and 68 and you will be all up to speed. This is probably a good time to jump in as the story is ramping up again.

Honestly, for me it had been pure economics. I had the first HC a while ago and loved it and was going to go down the path of getting the HCs. I just was behind. When the Compendium was announced, I figured that would be the path to go. I should have picked up the 1st print last summer, but figured I'd wait...unfortunately it went OOP quick, so I had to wait until the 2nd print.

It was well worth the wait though! :thumb:

Only three trades and a couple issues to catch up. Perfect timing!

I didn't know that they published a WD compendium. I've been meaning to get into this series for a long time now, but I've held off. I might pick up the big book of zombies now..

Do it! It covers issues 1-48 and even then leaves you wanting more!

Is issue 48 a good wrap up point for the story?

The way I read it, 48 is where there is a major shift in story direction.

Saying more would spoil it, but in other words, yes, 48 brings to close many outstanding story elements.

Absolutely. You can almost consider 1-48 one huge mega arc.

No.

I have the Walking Dead compen but my Fables 12 did not get shipped, I need to order another one.

I have been spending all my time reading my new Robert Jordan book. I will post when I read either.
