Retailer for FCBD

Post by JCVaughn »

I talked to my main comic book retailer locally and he's at least interested in trying to help the folks who are concerned about Free Comic Book Day.

Best Comics & Collectibles International

New Hyde Park, NY 11040
Phone: (516) 328-1900
Email: tommybest@aol.com

Drop Tommy a line at the email address above.

Let him know you’re from ValiantFans.com.

Remind him that I said to contact him.

Let him know what you’re looking for (just FCBD, ongoing GK stuff, whatever).

Since we've given him some lead time, he'll see what he can work out.

My pleasure. I have been going to Tommy's store for about a year. I like him a lot. No idea whether he's ready for the Valiant-centric business or not, but thought it's worth a try. He does a lot of mail order and is a big statue dealer, too.

I might just contact him as well... not sure what my retard LCS owner will do this year. Last year he let you take TWO free comics, no not one of each, two comics period.

What a pecker-head...

Odds are I will have to outsource this. :!:

I think so far the feelings are completely mixed about the FCBD retailers.

Some are great and use it correctly and others take part half heartedly and end up winding up more regular or possible repeat business with lack of communication skills.
Therefore it makes sense to support anyone who is doing it right full stop.

I know there are shops who haven't done much with it, but I'm never seen a store that really put some effort into it that didn't get something out of it.

I totally agree.
I have some friends who have stores.
Some participate and some dont.
The ones who do reap the rewards and the others are honest about being jaded by being behind the counter 6 days a week.
The latter have no interest in much outside of new product and their regular customer base.

The former are very well off and always look to expand.

Its not much more complicated than that.
