Finished the first of 2 Q&W softcovers covering 0, 1-11. I could've done without the Troublemakers stuff, but awesome nonetheless.

Not unless Priest is given a shot at the writing.

The funny thing, it is the kind of book that I do not like. The art is not real clear, and it just seems "Marvel-y". (not sure what that means)

But so far the story has been a bit unexpected. So, I am in to it. The visual style has even grown on me. I think I am 3 books in.

I can say for sure that HCs are the way to read a comic story.
Hardcovers are a great way to read comics and an even better way to lend them to friends since they're nearly impossible to destroy.

Planet Hulk was a fun hardcover.
They may be near-impossible to destroy, but corners can be blunted, pages bent and dust jackets torn... :(

True, true. I hold on to the dust covers when I lend out hardcovers.

Chew #5 - This book continues to impress. It wrapped the arc up and set things up for the future all in one. Every issue so far has been a great read that's very different from each of the preceding issues.

Didn't realise it was out yet, was that this week?

Isn't the series going on hiatus for a while now?

Yep. This week. It's not going on hiatus. At first, they said the series would take a break between arcs. #5 is the last issue in the Taster's Choice arc, but the first trade AND issue 6 are due to drop at the end of November. Word is that Guillory is ahead on the series, so I doubt there will be a hiatus. That was probably before they realized that they are going to bank on this series.

Liberty Comics #2 $4.99

This is the CBLD benefit book. It's an anthology with about 8 or 9 stories in it.

The Jason Aaron story was neat and the Choker preview was very interesting. Otherwise, I didn't care for it.

I'd recommend NOT getting this book, but the money does go to a good place.

No comics for awhile, I’m afraid. I will be reading a stack of empirical journals over the weekend though. :|

Maybe I could do a few doodles in the margins...

Rob (Guillory) told me that they have all 75 issues "plotted" out.

Sweet. Last I heard, they only thought they'd do 50. Not surprised that it's probably going up since it's doing well. Wait till the trade money starts flowing in. They'll be banking big time.

I finished the Planet Hulk HC. over all it was good. There are some parts of the story that seemed to "jump". The art was ok, the overall story was above average. I liked the underlying themes of the story. The end was a bit obvious, there were some twists and turns that I enjoyed.

You know, I said it in a post earlier..... it was "Marvel-y". In the art and the story telling. I'm glad I read it, I would not have liked it as much if I would have paid cover price.

I have read on the board that WW Hulk was a let down. But they sure had a great lead up to it.

I am Reading ...

BoosterGold
All the Blackest Night Stuff I can get my Hands on
X-Force
Cable
Dark Avengers
Deadpool Merc witha Mouth
Supergirl
Powergirl
Secret Six
Red Robin
Adventure Comics
Flash Re-Birth..., whenever it comes out.... :?
Superman Origion
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Ms. Marvel
Teen Titans
Titans
Cry for Justice
Hulk

.. I just finished reading the R.I.P. Story line..., I misplaced 2 of the issues ,.. & waiting till I had them all to read. I actually liked the Story Quite a Bit,.. thought it was neat to see oldschool & Silver Age Characters and Ideas become relevant again, but they were addressed without the "Cheese" ... Like BatMite. ... Final Crisis for me was a Complete Abortion,.. so I was actually a bit worried to even read R.I.P.

I just read Image's I Kill Giants.

WOW. what a read. I don't want to say to much about the story, but it is riveting. I am not a big fan of that style of art (magna-esque) but it fit the story.

Now I am sick (flu I think) so I am a bit off..... but I got emotional at the end of the book.

It is something completely different than I have really ever read. I HIGHLY recommend reading it. It is a great story about overcoming and triumph.

5 stars. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

It's pretty amazing. I usually hate that manga-ish style, but it does fit. You won't be disappointed.
