I picked all of these up yesterday evening.

ALL of the books/ashcans above are in CHERRY condition !!!
The Ultraverse holos (Prototype, Hardcase, Mantra x 2 and Freex) are the silver holos (it is the angle of the camera) and I have NEVER seen the Platinum Perg books by Lightening Comics before. Nor have I even heard of the Madman GOLD ashcan !!! And wait a minute... is that a
the Birth of the Defiant Universe comic in the middle of the mix ? hehehe The Platinum Predator vs Magnus is a nice pick up and was totally pleased by the editions of 'WHACKED', I even left a couple there.
I picked up all of these tonight in one deal. The LCS owner also had a Venom: Lethal Protector BLACK and a Venom: Lethal Protector Gold. Which I had in my hand but he said he was going to CGC those... but it was totally cool as I had NEVER seen a Venom Lethal Protector BLACK error book in person. Also the Mantra #1 is signed by writer Matt W. Barr and 'visual image creator'
Adam Hughes. The comics has a 1993 'Limited Treasured Editions - a division of Lee Tennant Enterprises' black COA and is sealed with a mirror shiny 'LIMITED TREASURED EDITIONS SEAL OF AUTHENTICITY TAMPER PROOF - DO NOT REMOVE' sticker sealing the bag.
I was amazed at the condition of ALL the comics... but not as amazed as for what I paid for all of these.
Sorry that the pics are kind of fuzzy but I took these after the sun went down and my camera had the aperture open just a bit too long which made them fuzzy because it had to stay open a bit longer/hand shake. I can replace the photos later during the day so that they will be clearer.

Here's a little somethin' I picked up today
<a href="http://s510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... solar1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... solar1.jpg" border="0" alt="Doctor Solar #1"></a>
A really sweet copy of Doctor Solar #1. There are a few spine stress marks on it but thats it, the interior looks even better. I paid $89 for this, pretty fair I thought.
I also got this today
<a href="http://s510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... 000ad4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... 000ad4.jpg" border="0" alt="Magnus Robot Fighter 4000 A.D. #4"></a>
Magnus Robot Fighter 4000 A.D. #4, again a few spine stess marks but I'm happy with it. Paid $35 for this one.
And finally
<a href="http://s510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... tone18.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s350 ... tone18.jpg" border="0" alt="Turok Son of Stone #18"></a>
Turok Son of Stone #18 , another real nice copy. This was $35 also.
I don't plan on collecting full runs of these but I'd thought it would be cool to have at least one high grade, low issue number of the GK 3

I'll go easy on you, soldier... you've asked before, and I've answered, but I won't hold it against you for forgetting!Knightt wrote:Can somebody PM me the way to look up what items have sold for in the past on Ebay ?
Thanks.... yes, I have all but four of these books, but I never turn down buying books like these on the cheap.

Find the "Advanced Search" link right beside the regular search's radio button, go there, and click the box for "completed listings only."

Today I picked up Eternal Warrior #1, A&A #0, 1, Shadowman #4, and three copies of Ninjak #1. The guy was selling books for $1 a piece or seven for $5. I didn't plan on taking the Ninjaks but there wasn't anything else interesting. So I figured $5 wasn't bad.
Funny thing is, back in the day I couldn't afford these books(not the Ninjaks). I had EW #1 Gold and A&A #0 Gold as my reading copies because I won them. I've got a whole set of Gold books that are beat to hell because they were all I had to read.

It was at the Comic Con years ago. Here's the story form another post. I don't want to type it out again.

Blood of Heroes wrote:The worst day of my life happened at the San Diego Comic Con about 1994(or some time before the Chaos Effect). Valiant was in it's prime, and had a huge booth at which they held signings and all sorts of crap. The main thing they were doing was holding trivia contests every twenty minutes or so, and for each correct answer they gave you a pack of promotional trading cards. These packs were to be used as currency at an auction that was to be held on Sunday. Having a four day pass, I never strayed too far from the booth, amassing as many packs of cards as I could. They had posted a list of what was to be auctioned off. The list included rare books, original artwork, paraphernalia, etc. But what I wanted most, was to win the auction to be drawn into an upcoming comic book as some background character. I would live forever in the pages of Harbinger, or dare I say, Bloodshot! Well, the day came and I had quite a few packs of these cards. The auction number came about and I found myself in a bidding war with several other people. Then there was two- me and one other. When the smoke cleared, I found myself short about five packs of cards. I had lost. In my despair, I settled on the next auction for a complete set of Gold Books. Not too shabby, right? At least I wasn't walking away empty handed. As I started to leave the room, Gold Books in hand, I heard them announce that since the 'get drawn into a book auction' was such a big hit they were going to do another. The second one didn't come close to what the first one had gone for, but since I had spent all my 'money' on the Gold Books, I didn't have a chance. Aint life a b!tch?
Just thought I'd share this story with like minded people.

That Comic Con was quite an experience. Valiant had a huge booth, and was the place to be. All the artists and writers and everyone else were there and very accessible to the fans. They'd sign autographs, answer questions, hand out freebies, and just hang out. It was really cool.
If I had been drawn into a book, would that have earned me the "Valiant? I was there!" title?
