Solar 10 9.8 on ebay

Post by playparadise »

I predicted that the solar 10 9.8 auction value would eventually surpass Harbinger 1 9.8. Wonder if this auction will prove me right.

Doubtful. Two of the last recorded sales this year were 300 and 305 respectively bracketed by an odd sale of 900. Prices have been falling since last year. This one should be interesting to watch for sure :thumb:

Yeah, I highly doubt that will ever happen.

Not in the long term, but there might be a brief period where the Solar sells for more with the recent glut on the census.

Harbinger 1 is just far superior a comic than Solar 1...look at raw prices, many times you can find this for $10 or less, can you say that for the former? I don't count one fluky sale statistically significant.

Solar 10's (not 1's) have been going for good coin, somebody pointed out a seller that claimed to have a box of them and people who bought from him were getting back 9.8s. The last one I saw him sell, raw, was $28.

Okay, well when i submitted a number of high grade raw books that came back 9.8 (3 valiant golds); i then paid $78 for a raw harby 1 that seller listed a couple months afterward, which is by far the most i would ever pay for that ungraded.

There's no question that Solar 10 is a big key in the valiant universe but to compare it's long term value to Harby 1 is ridiculous.

Still a nice hit, but if the seller bought this previously for and investment then oops.
If they subbed it themselves then they no doubt made a good profit still.

And everyone thought I was crazy! :?

I really don't think we'll see another example of Solar 10 9.8 going for more then a Harby 1 9.8.

Think I got lucky with that prediction ...

After the most recent census update (8/11/09) it seems that the Harby numbers might be slowing.

Can any one provide a census update comparison over the past few CGC updates for Solar 10 vs. Harby 1 9.8 (similar to the one Greg just posted at the CGC forum)?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, good call ... that Solar 10 did indeed sell higher than the most recent Harbinger #1 9.8 :thumb:

I haven't posted anything over there recently. :hm:

But to answer your question:

Solar 10 vs. Harby 1

I haven't added the 8/11 data yet... it was just released today. :thumb:
