Frustrating not being able to sort my DU's, but..........

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Frustrating not being able to sort my DU's, but..........

Post by Draco »

Im getting really frustrated not being able ot sort my comics out, but its not all bad of course.

Back in Jan/Feb Drift and myself sorted our own collections and made wants lists for every last comic we had.

So that was all good and well till i left my folder at the London show in April :|

Again not a complete disaster as its obviously saved in several places, but i had written on the list to the tune of about five long boxes.
Items crossed out, new titles added etc etc.

Now the annoying side aside i have picked up a monstrous amount of comics for next to nothing so im still very happy.

I just wish i had the time to sort them out as i have since added another 6 long boxes to database.

I want so badly to go to the show next Sunday and be able to take my list and use it with a big content *SQUEE* eating grin on my face.

Again the bright side is that theres so much DU cheapness all over the land that i can buy blind and still have fun, just more if i could cross them off.

Also since i did the list i have decided to re design how i keep the info on excel.
Should be the killer list when i finally get to re doing it all.

Things work wise have been slowly growing since we re booted back last Summer, but $$$ is in and out so quick i never know whether im coming or going still, but slowly and surely we are getting there.
This means although we arent quite able to move forward we are at least able to buy some collections still if cheap enough.
We then entertain ourselves with some freebie fodder to pad our tat ( Drift collects some really cool stuff very diff to mine so not all tat like most of mine collections  ) collections like the last show of 27 boxes of king tat.

I think if i had £100 to throw at DU's once month or so i could really kill some whole publisher sets off.

I'm really close on a good selection of 80' larger titles ( Nexus, jon sable etc) now, plus some of the smaller publisher runs have all been chipped at and are also very close to completion.

Since the master list was made i have of course added another ten or so small publishers that i didnt know much of or had originally decided against ( and very much against my own rules, so i added them :| )
These kind of sets i will not put any effort into getting to be fair, probably just slowly achieved over several years without paying much attention.

I think i have somewhere around 8,000 individual issues now, so by no means massive, but as i only really started this last year and havent been spending much its pretty cool.

So not all gloom and doom at all, in fact the future of my DU collection is super, smashing, great !!!

On top of this i have something massive brewing in the background, which is likely to reach fruition in the coming months.
When that happens i will be able to fullfill a life long ambition and do some things that five years ago seemed a million miles away if ever at all.

The future is bright.

I have a lovely folder with the majority of my wants list taken care of.

I have almost kept up to date with my master list so I can scout things online and know what I need even if it isn't in my folder.

I laugh at silly people that leave wants lists behind at shows anyway but all the more so if it is a big red ring binder :thumb:

Just Thor.

Just think of all the fun you will have putting it all together again. This can be planned out over a few pints I am sure. :thumb:
