No. The only one I really liked was Sandman--Gaiman rocks!

Fables bro, Fables.
I know. I need to read it, but I can't find any of the tpb's cheap :(

Even at SDCC where there were all kinds of 1/2 TPBs, I only remember seeing maybe 1 Fables TPB.

I have gotten most of mine form like Barnes & Nobel.com and Amazon.com.

That was me. I was planning on selling them as I read them. I had just finished volume 5 when I put those up for sale. I was surprised that nobody wanted them. I just finished volume 11 and am planning on selling the run of TPB's on ebay next week.

100 Bullets quickly is not possible.
The setup is easy enough to explain.
A briefcase containing 100 bullets and a gun completely untraceable.
That person is given irrefutable proof of someone who destroyed their life, they are then given the choice to take revenge or not.

The larger backstory involving a group known as the minutemen, the 13 families who actively run america, the croatoa and all the rest that makes the story great involve way way too much reference. Though once Issue 100 is out and the trade is inevitably collected, I may have to dedicate a weekend to reading all 100 in a shot just too see all the connections I may not have made in the 6 + months between trades.

Its confusing, dark and awesome.

Scalped is basically a crime/mob story set on an Indian Reservation. Think Goodfellas in one of the poorest and most destitute places in the USA.

The main characters are Dashiell Bad Horse, a young guy returning to the Rez after 15 years in the military with myterious motivations and Chief Lincoln Red Crow, a guy in his 50's who is the head of the Rez and also runs all of the organized crime.

One of the great things about the series is that not every issue is told from the same character's perspective, and sometimes we see the same events from totally different perspectives which gives the stories and characters a lot of depth.

Art is by European R.M. Guera who uses a dark and gritty style with lots of black and great use of shadows similar to Frank Miller's old style.

While I am very early into the series, Lucifer is quite good.

Vertigo has done so many good books, I am going to make more of an effort to pick-up back issues.

Lucifer continues to be good all the way till the end. I would suggest reading Sandman if you are already didnt. The Dreaming is also good as it focuses on the minor characters of the Sandman universe.

I finished Scalped 1-11. Damn, it's good. It's a shame that this book doesn't even sell 7K copies on a regular basis.

What else is Jason Aaron working on? His writing style is excellent.

I will be one of the early predictors - Scalped will be made into a movie, so horde those issues now.

Its been quite a while since I've read it, but Cain and Abel, the little gargoyle, the raven, lucian the librarian, and merv pumpkinhead. Its decent and pretty cheap, worth to check out.

A set on eBay, not too unreasonable (with S&H added, anyways)

You are talking about the original series right? The recent LS didn't do much for me, but the original Matt Wagner, Guy Davis series was great :thumb: .

I know that he is currently doing Ghost Rider and he did a great mini series call The Other Side about the Vietnam War. The Other Side was his first comic written and it was great. I have a signed copy of the TPB of the Other Side for sale on ebay right now.

Jason is doing the Wolverine Manifest Destiny mini series right now, and around Wolverine movie time, Marvel is launching a new book called Wolverine: Weapon X (or something along those lines) that he will be writing.

He has done a two issue arc on Hellblazer that was excellent as well. I'm hoping he gets on Punisher MAX at some point in the future...

He's also an INCREDIBLY nice guy. He came up last year and did a signing at our store, and we hung out with him in KC last april at a con. He even took me and my partner out for barbeque. Class act all around :thumb:

I just read Northlanders Vol 1. A bargain for $9.99 in the TPB. Intriguing story and great artwork. A few spoilers:

The scene where Sven kills as the stag was one of the coolest things I have seen depicted in comics.

Vertigo for me:

Current
Young Liars till 18 :-(
Fables
Scalped

Finished
Y the Last Man(60 issues, 10 trades, or 5 Hardcover editions)
American Century(27 issues, only 1 trade released)

In Trade
DMZ
100 Bullets(13th and final trade out in a few months)
Sandman(Absolute Editions)(4 soon to be joined by Absolute Death)
Transmetropolitan (11 trades, though the 0 trade is just a collection of the 2 prestige format books)

Back Issue Bin Hunts
Sandman Mystery Theatre
Shade the Changing Man
Lucifer
Exterminators

Honarary Vertigo Title
Ex Machina

I plan on picking up Preacher in the recolored HC's but that calls for a time of smarter fiscal sanity or a con where I can find it 1/2 off.
