Elveen, I have the first Bone TPB I was going to see if any interest on eBay existed with, but if you'd like, I will send to you. And yes, your girls will love it - it's truly an "all ages" type of book.

I really enjoy that book. All my comic friends stay away from it for some reason tho.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I've read it all. I thought the first was the best, but all was at least very good. and it is the kind of story that I think I will enjoy as much or even more on the second read.

What other recommendations?
Have you read "Bone"? I think you'd love it
Not read Bone yet?

Shame on you. It is a tremendous piece of work that I read to my kids. Bone and Castle Waiting. Your girls would love Castle Waiting.

I can read Bone to my girls?

Can I pick up any TPB and read? DO I need to read in order?

Also...... what about Y Last Man?
Bone's def. a beginning to end read.

I enjoyed YTLM; not as much as Preacher but I'd say they're about the same level of Rated "R."

I wonder if you'd like Star man? it's recently been collected and has damn fine writing by Robinson. What I think though?

DC: New Frontier. Darwyn Cook Awesomeness.

Robinson's Starman has been recommended before. I'll do some investigating.

Finished 1602 last night. Overall I really enjoyed it. (can't beat .25 books) I really liked the art. the concept was also very clever.

I also read Astro City Special: Supersonic. (this is for 4 Hun  )
It was the first AS books that I did not think was up to par. I thought it was pedestrian. You could see where the story was going from the beginning. Maybe because AS has been so good, it did not meet my explications.

I agree. Honestly, the only Astro City books that I think were phenomenal were the first limited series and then the regular series.

I've been so disappointed with Local Heros, Dark Ages, and the many one shots that I no longer buy the new stuff when he puts it out.

The LS and the series were comics at their best though.

I just need one issue for the first two volumes and have nearly all sets and specials.

i did read some early stuff and loved them, but heard nothing than bland reviews on speicals and minis

Yes. I have the trade. That will be one of the first TPBs that I re-read.

A while back I started a thread asking what I should read next and got many suggestions.

A few things that were suggested that I have not read yet are:
Life And Death Of Captain Marvel
v for vendetta
Arkham Asylum
James Robinson's Starman
The Golden Age by James Robinson

I am now trying to finish my Moore Supreme run and From Hell.

Even now and then I scan ebay for cheap trades of the above books. I usually just miss the killer deals.

Hobo, any more suggestions?

V for Vendetta. Tonight. Do not wait or delay.

The scene on the roof in the rain where V explains what freedom really is may be the most sublimely powerful thing I've ever read in the graphic sequential art medium.

Download it if you have to. IMO, it's so good you'll buy a copy later to keep around.

There are sites you can DL e-copies of comics and graphic novels.

Unfortunately I'm pretty worthless at how to . . .

IMO, it's the best work he's ever done. From the the very last page of the first issue to the end of the run (#75?), Thunderbolts was as good as any book being published. One of those series that doesn't get enough recognition, but totally deserves it.
