Morgan Webb from X-Play just disrespected Valiant.

They were discussing games that needed to be remade for the newer consoles and on the list was Marvel vs. Capcom.

Morgan Webb said that DC vs. MKU wasn't a suitable replacement and then continued to say....

"What's next Dead or Alive vs. Valiant Comics?" with a pouty look on her face.

I almost cried. Morgan Webb finds my love of Valiant to be fodder for her joke. Oh well, it was nice to see her mention it.

The next time the episode airs is on G4 at 6 PM (Pacific) on Friday 1/2/08 and is titled "2009 Preview Special" and occurs before the first commercial break (ten minutes, maybe).

I just watched that episode the other night and thought that's what she said, but I wasn't absolutely sure.

I wonder if she thought that up or one of the writers thought he would just throw it in there.

I don't think it was really a slam on Valiant... if anything it was a shout out to them and recognition as a rival to Marvel and DC. Either way, I think it's cool they said it and I can't believe I missed it when I watch this episode.

Yeah, something must have caught their attention for them to just throw the Valiant name out there like that.

What did you expect? Morgan Webb only loves the newest in geek stuff. She has never appreciated the past.

Sessler should keep her in line better than that, though.

Morgan Webb is still on TV? I remember her from The Screen Savers way back in "tha day." I didn't really care for her then.

She's alright, but nothing spectacular. I'm kinda surprised they kept Adam and Morgan when G4 gave everyone else from Tech TV the ax. G4 is horrible compared to what the old network used to be. Oh well, at least Morgan and Adam are better than Olivia Munn and Kevin Pereira. It's hard to watch more than 5 minutes of their show.

There is no such thing as bad press.

It is better to have Valiant brought up in pop culture in a demeaning way than to just be forgotten.

I would buy DOA v. VALIANT in a heartbeat.

I always liked her quirky style, but I wonder how many here even know who Kate is?

I do and I still think she was hotter than any other women on TechTV back in the day.

I would love to see someone start up another Tech TV type of network and bring back all of those great people from back in the day. I used to watch the Screen Savers and Call For Help everyday.

Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, and Chris Pirillo tried to do that. They started Undo.TV and had a few web shows hoping for expansion to television, but now I see that url just redirects to geeks.pirillo.com.

There's a 2006 posting from Pirillo regarding the project here: http://chris.pirillo.com/techtv-undotv/. I couldn't find any info on what eventually happened to it.

TechTV may have been one of the coolest things to ever be on TV. It's really a shame what Comcast did to them. I started watching The Screen Savers back when it was Kate Botello and Leo Laporte. I was really sad when she left the show.

I thought she was better suited for X-Play or "GameSpot TV" as it was called back then. She made a way better partner for Adam than Morgan.
