went to a local show, after spending most of the show going through one guy's 50 cent boxes, I looked around to see what else was around. I noticed one dealer had a copy of Visions #4 laying on top of his boxes, the top book on a small stack. I went through them, Visions #3, Visions #2 and then...yes, Visions #1. It was marked $42. He knew the book was the first Carrot, but I guess was not aware of what these typically go for. Looked into my wallet, I only had $41. :o

I had only taken $60 out of the bank, figuring there wasn't going to be much at the show and that I didn't need to spend much, anyway. So I ask the guy if he would take $41. He tells me it isn't $42, all of his books are 50% off. So I happily pay the guy $21 and go on my way.

Nice to see some honesty, too - some dealers might not have told you things were discounted at all.

exactly! I saw he had signs saying 50% off, but I thought they were only the books in the long boxes, and not the wall books or these books (which were in a small pile all their own).

Here's one that recently closed on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0274109149

$262.85, mine is in better condition than this copy, but mine didn't come with the additional letter/sketch from Bob Burden. I'd say it's at least a $200 book.

I used to catch quite a few nice BIN deals myself, but I don't go to ebay as much as I used to.

I will be the first to admit that this was not a killer deal, but today while slumming at a nasty comic shop, I pulled out an XO 51 from the dollar bins. It was bagged/boarded and it looked so lonely by itself I just had to rescue it.

On a side note, I was in another store yesterday and saw an almost complete run of Troublemakers in the $2 bins, but I passed as I am not into v2.
