Ultraverse hard to find issues??
Their are the obvious ultra 5000.
Which may not be hard to find??? but are limited to 5000.
Is their any other low print runs that you know of that are hard to get?
Someone mentioned a couple of issues but I cannot seem to find the page.

Here's a list of the books in my opinion I think are difficult to come by. Others can add any they think of:
All Infinity painted covers seem to be a little tougher to find than the all black covers
All painted versions of Vol. 2 #1 books
All Vol.2 #1 signed versions with Ultraverse COA's
All Ultra 5,000
All silver hologram books and the Ultraforce Gold hologram
All gold hologram books (are MUCH harder to find than the silver holos other than the Ultraforce gold holo, which is as common as the silver holos)
All books that are polybagged with the Skybox yellow banner going across the top of the bag
Black September: Preview (1995)
Break-Thru 1 (Ultra 5000) (listed separately, because it is MUCH harder to find than the other Ultra 5,000 books)
Conan Savage: 4
Elven: 1 (Limited edition)
Exiles vs. X-Men: 0 (Alternate cover, signed)
Firearm: 0 (with video)
Freex/Mantra nn Ashcan
Godwheel: TPB
Hardcase: nn Ashcan, nn Ashcan (Limited edition), regular UV ashcan, one came with Hero Mag, one was the Hero Mag San Diego Comic Con version, and one was that black and white version (some of these are tough and some aren't, can't really tell which is which without looking through my collection)
Jumpstart Effect: nn Ashcan
Mantra (Volume 1): 1 (Ultra Limited Archieve Edition w/ raised seal/COA), 5 (Alternate cover)
New World Order: nn Preview (1995)
Nightman/Gambit: 1 (Alternate cover)
Nightman vs. Wolverine: 0 (Alternate cover, signed)
Prime (Volume 1): nn Ashcan (Limited edition), nn Ashcan (Comics Cavalcade), nn Ashcan (Sega CD), nn Ashcan 6th Annual Capital City Sales Conference, Softcover TPB, Hardcover TPB, Hardcover TPB signed by Jones, Strazewski, Breyfogle and limited to 2,000
Prime vs. Hulk: 0 (Alternate cover, signed)
Rune (Volume 1): 0 Spin, nn Ashcan (Limited edition)
Solution: 5 (Alternate cover)
Strangers: nn Ashcan (Diamond), TPB

no problem, had lots of help with my Ultraverse collecting, so I don't mind passing along some info. These are mostly ones that I have found out were tough over the course of the last few years when I was looking to put my set together. There are some books that are so tough, I still have yet to see one for sale.h-comics wrote:wow really thanks for that list.

hmmm, both Mile High and Lone Star have them in stock cheaply, and there are several copies on eBay currently. I personally don't consider it hard to find.Doorman wrote:While not as hard to find as the variant to the Solution #5, Ultraverse: Future Shock seems to be a pretty difficult book to track down.

I am pretty sure Future Shock was the last one published. I couldn't give a specific month but I am almost certain it was published in 1997. They even talk about it being the last Ultraverse book in the column at the end of the book.
Not particularly uncommon. I had a handful of copies once upon a time.

I appreciate the list. I gotten all the Silver Holos and thought they were the toughest to find. I have passed on Gold Foils a few times just thinking they werent tough to find my goof.
Really wish Starlin would bring Breed back. Love the book and most of the Ultraverse. Why the Hell doesnt Marvel bring them back? The Strangers, Solution, Hardcase and Breed were all good books.

Since 'Breed was from the Bravura line, Marvel doesn't own the character at all. I found this on Wiki:
Breed III was planned and started but has to date never been completed or published. When asked about it Starlin said in an interview with Newsarama: "There are four issues of ‘Breed III in various states of completion. At first, we couldn’t get a publisher interested in it after Malibu Comics went under. There’s been some talk of collecting the whole ‘Breed tale into one large graphic novel. Time restraints on my part, make it impossible to be more specific than that. There should be some 'dynamite' news in the future."[1] He also said to Comic Book Resources: "I'd like to finish off 'Breed.' I actually have four issues of 'Breed' III done, but we never found a publisher. … What I may do in about a year or so is run off the other two again, and print the third one then" in collected form."[2]
As for the Ultraverse titles you mentioned, I've heard that the creators are still a partial owner of those characters as well and Marvel would have to pay them some amount of money to use the characters. Marvel's got enough characters of their own to play with without having to pay creators ... so, we probably won't be seeing any Ultraverse revivals anytime soon sadly.
Perhaps the original creators can buy them back ... but, they probably wouldn't be willing to pay very much ... which wouldn't make it worth it for Marvel want to go through the legal process just to get a few measly bucks.
In effect, it would probably cost more for a lawyer to write the contract than the creators would be willing to pay to get these characters back.

I thought only the Bravura line was creator owned. The other titles I didnt know were even partially created owned. Maybe that is why they wont re-use them.
I thought it was only Dreadstar, Edge, Breed and a couple of others I have forgotten. I remember the sticker program as well man I was buying all the titles to get it.
I have read Starlin talk about reviving Breed many times. I think he could buy out the character and make a nice chunk of change running it at Image as a Indy. I thought the premise was excellent. Make it a little darker for Zombie fans today and he has a hit.

Not sure what these are in terms of offical signed books.
Were these put out with Mailbu or are these just one of many crazy amount of books signed at retail stores etc.

You'd be surprised at how cheap you can get those old gold Bravura books. There's a seller on eBay who consistently has Breed 1 Golds for something like $1.99. They are in his store and every time I put in a big order, I send him a question asking if he'll sell 3 or so for 99 cents each and he seems to. Dreadstar 1 Gold pops up from time to time and Star Slammers does to... hell, I might have an extra Star Slammers that I could be easily talked out of.fastballspecial wrote:I thought only the Bravura line was creator owned. The silver books are a lot harder to find. I think Breed is the only Bravura silver I have.
