Best 25 Cents I ever spent...aka my Valiant Story!

8 or so years ago when I was in the 6th/7th grade, me and my friend would hike several miles to the local comic shop with around 10 dollars each and scower the 25 cent bin. And we would spend all 10 bucks on a combo of 25 cent, and 50cent books. Thats not only how we started our collection, but it introduced me to one of my favorite heroes X-O manowar. Now if any of you have looked, issues 13-30 seem to be the X-O isses populating the cheap bins, and those were the ones I got, and man were they great! I loved them to death!

Sure about half the comics we bought in those bins weren't even worth the quarter, but I found that every Valiant I picked up was a winner! Admitidly, I was...at the time...also a fan of several other 'books' that I have since discovered to be putrid crap (like youngblood) but the Valiant comics have retained their quality throughout!

You should try reading X-O #1-#12. The story was actually 10 times better in that first year of publishing.

BodaZoffa, I have had the pleasure of reading most of those. I have read 1-4 in TPB form, and own #1, I have also read #11 and #12. They are indeed, like you said, great!

IMO, issues #7-#9 were the peak of the story. Check those out as well!
