Valiant signed items, promos, and Cons
Okay I have seen many a thread on here about variant issues some so rare only a few have actually seen them. I was at Wizard World LA this weekend, seemed I asked for Valiants and got a bunch Saturday. At one booth I saw a book that had a signature by Shooter on the inside of the polybag a Harbinger Trade. The signature was on the top right corner of the Harbinger #0 on the back. I know in the 90's promos, giveaways etc were 2nd nature at cons, by Valiant workers to there friends...lots of signatures on books, non VVSS came that way. I wondered if anyone seen a issue like that polybagged and signed before sealed.
Also maybe we as a community should get together and explain in a top post or something where some of the books came from like in the thread below about the red and blue signed unity's getting signed at the 1992 SD comic con. I am sure thats not the only explanation but it does help to lay down appearances and days of Cons where Valiant had booths to get the history on some of these items.

I found a dealer from Northern Califonia with a bunch of late issue Valiants. Which I added to my valiant acclaim sale in the Buy/Sell/Trade Thread. I also came upon a dealer who had some cool promo stuff to sell a few VVSS and I hopefully can buy more from. He said he bought out a shop with lots of Valiant Promo items. So hopefully can get him to call me and we can offer these items up to you guys. Note to self I wish I would of kept my last golds and not sold them on eBay. The X-0 #0 gold was a 9.6 or better easy!!!!
I submitted some modern superhero stuff about 20 issues all should be 9.4 with half 9.6 or better if I graded them right!!!!!

It is obvous this item was prepared as a promotional item as I have seen only the one and had many a Harbinger sealed trades over 4 years. Should items like this but counted as a variant to collect since they were produced this way?

They were resealed. These were done by a comic shop. They were opened and signed then resealed. They were not issued by Valiant. There was a member of the boards who opened one and it was a COA from a comic shop, not Valiant.jasons-auctions wrote:It is obvous this item was prepared as a promotional item as I have seen only the one and had many a Harbinger sealed trades over 4 years. Thats a possibility I am sure but the bag looked legit and I did not see any COA with the book unless it was put it on the inside of them. It is weird someone would go through that much trouble to do this. Though I guess maybe they got a premium selling it as something it was not, stupid scammers.x-omatic wrote:They were resealed. I can't point you to the exact thread (I dunno if it was on the old boards or on this one) but I remember someone saying they opened theirs and the COA was between the two books. Not a very useful place to put it if you ask me!jasons-auctions wrote:Thats a possibility I am sure but the bag looked legit and I did not see any COA with the book unless it was put it on the inside of them.
