http://www.superdickery.com
now, you're asking yourself...superdickery?
this website has TONS of old jimmy olsen and lois lane covers where superman is being, well...a *SQUEE*.
i can't explain it any better then that folks...if you're even the least bit familiar with the insanity that makes up some of these covers then you'll dig this site quite a bit.
if you've ever wanted to see lois lane strapped on the front of a truck while it drops off the side of a mountain and superman leaving her dumb *SQUEE* to die then stop reading this and go...your inner 4 year old will thank me later.

This post is aweome
this site is hysterical, what a brilliant idea for a website
Now, personally, I cannot STAND Superman
just boggles my mind how anyone can. Yes, I realize without Supes we'd have no hero books, but he's still a dork
I truly never realized just how MANY stupid, assanine, Superman covers there have been through the decades
stunning...thanks for the laughs

What boggles MY mind the most is how brutally condescending DC was to its readers throughout the 50's and 60's...and they wondered why Marvel has kicked their collective holes from 1971-present.Peter Parker wrote:This post is aweomethis site is hysterical, what a brilliant idea for a website

It's like they had contests in house to be who could be the most insultingly stupid to the people who read the books.
Amazing.

i knew folks here would enjoy that site. happily i just wandered up on it.
the comment about how terrible dc treated it's audience is dead on the money. marvel was the first company to take it's readers seriously and not insult their intelligence every 30 days.
i don't hate superman, but i do think he's boring as hell. personally, a character like punisher or batman is much more compelling to read. these are regular people who get hurt and bleed. there's no invulnerability for those guys. superman is basically a god among men...there's very little that the average reader can relate to. but i don't discount the importance of the character to the world of comics.

i'm not a huge fan of jim lee's.
sometimes his stuff works and sometimes it doesn't. i am intrigued enough to check it out but i don't feel he can carry a story. the batman hush storyline was very good, but i'm not diggin' the new superman arc nearly as much.
anyway, just this one fellas opinion...you know about opinions though.

It reminds me of the Lethargic Lad parody where a Rock, Paper, Scissors game finale was done in the Image dramatic style with speedlines.Knightt_333 wrote:I agree... I dont really 'read' the Superman storyline as much as I 'look' at it. Now granted I will take good storytelling over good art ANYDAY. I mean that is why Image didnt really make it. It all just looked like a bunch of posing throughout the books... "OK, I am going to brush my teeth now" <----- strike dramatic pose !!!
