On a whim, I picked up a copy of X-Factor #117 (the one from the 90s). It was leading up to the big battle between Havok and Random, where the Dark Beast and his flunky Fatale (hmm... familiar sounding name) were manipulating Random to betray X-Factor.
The current X-Factor is on my pull list. I was reading it, and near the end of the book, out of the sky falls a de-powered Fatale.
I just found that terribly coincidental.
Also - poor Blob. Dude's in it a bad way.

Here's a few snags lately, no great deals except the last one. It was only $150 including shipping.

The Captain Atom was too cool to pass up, even if it has nothing to do with the Ditko character later. It would be NM if not for a tiny gouge on Captain Atom's face on the inset picture, it's so small I can't get it to scan.

I love that Captain Atom is punching that guy from behind (not that I know anything about him, maybe that was his superpower). When I get a chance to find the extra Caliber I'll post a detailed description. It might be a while though, I'm going to Eastern Europe in eight days and am mostly working doubles until then.

It took about three seconds to register and I had to come back to make sure this said what it said.
Gave me a great laugh

I feel the same way about that era, everything just a fun sense about it. I wish comics could steer back in that direction someday. Things just get way too serious now.Jay Tomio wrote:One of the reason why I like some of the B&B's and Showcase of this era (among some other titles) is the hokiness of the jargon. It's rather non-politic, but in a strange way I can't help to think it was a better time (even though I wasn't around). Regardless, just way fun to collect, if the earlier issues of either series weren't such a *SQUEE* to find I'd be more enthusiastic or active in my hunt for them. Finding them above G/VG+ is a pain (keep in mind I'm essentially limited to Ebay) and the turbo graded ones PGCMint recently had went for prices above what I'm willing to pay for non-true focuses of mine.Daniel Jackson wrote:I like the story description on that Brave and Bold book with S&W...Two super chicks on a new kick!
