I am not able to go this year AGAIN... if someone could get a few sketches from varied artist on gerber backerboards so that I can put a few up on the CF auctions this year I would GREATLY appreciate it.MedicAR wrote:As always, if anyone is willing to help out, I'd love anything Spirit, Hellboy, or Dark Knight Related. I'm not looking for anything specific.
I would love anything Dark Knight related as well.
I HAVE A NEW JOB !!!! That is paying pretty well and it would not be wise to 'take time off' so early on. Not that it would not be possible but this is an upper echilon job and I will risk nothing at this point.
If ANYONE could 'sponsor' me at SDCC this year I would appreciate it and would gladly return the favor next year or after that. If someone could sponsor me, please PM me and I will send you my cell phone number and if you see something cool I might like just call me up.
As far as the sketches go, just about anyone can grab a sketch here and there just as long as you can get it on a gerber backerboard, reason being they sell so much better for CF that way AND it gives Stu more room to emboss the "FIGHTING CYSTIC FIBROSIS" on the boards for when they go up for auction... remember when you used to do that Stu ? STU ?

All you have to do is walk up to any artist on artist alley and mention that you are doing this for Chris Scott and the Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser and you should be good to go. My only complaint on doing this is that I would have to go back and forth between the artists with that 'uh, hi... would you happen to have that sketch for the CF charity done yet ?' Sometimes they would not be done until the last day (and I gave it to them on preview night). I will be getting with Neal Adams so no need to bother him BUT someone might want to go to his booth, speak to either Neal or Spyda and they will remember it with little effort... MAYBE you can snag another sketch there but AT LEAST please have Neal go around and spread the word that the sketches for Cystic Fibrosis fund raiser is going on this year and for the artists to please support it. When Neal speaks, the artists LISTEN. Sean Chen is ALWAYS a CF sketch supporter and man, that guy moves when Neal speaks. It is a really nice feeling to see younger artists revere Neal as such and is very helpful for the fundraiser.
I caution, don't get a really cool sketch and decide 'well, hey I will just keep this one and donate a bit extra later' due to the fact that the artists are fanatical about getting with me to see just how much their work gets for the fund raiser.
So, PLEASE someone contact me... I need help.

I have already talked to Hobo about the backerboards.
I have some, embossed with "Fighting Cystic Fibrosis" on the top in the mail on the way to me. (I offered to pay for shipping, but Hobo would not let me pay for shipping)
Chris, I am going to spend all of Friday getting sketches for CF. I have never done this so I don't know what to expect, but I will have the embossed backerboards, Cf t-shirt on, and the front page of your website printed off in my hand.
Thurs. will be for me, Fri. is for CF.

I wil also have my cell, so I am sure I will be talking to you during the convention.

Sounds like a plan dude... Buuuuuuuuut, if you think you can just walk up and get a sketch from an artist there, well you will go home empty handed. That is just the way of the Con, my friend. I would enlist some aid, surely one other person can get two sketches, spread it out !!! Send out the VALIANT Army to Fight Cystic Fibrosis dude !!!Elveen wrote:Knightt wrote:but AT LEAST please have Neal go around and spread the word that the sketches for Cystic Fibrosis fund raiser is going on this year and for the artists to please support it.
