End of issue 4 warren turns back into the Archangel! It involves Apocalypse and Wolfsbane tears off angels wings, it is worth the read.Drift wrote:He said hero/villain was cool so I'm gonna guess no.cobra_commander wrote:All the changing the teams around ??????? Yeh but hasnt that been Quesada's M.O. for some time now hasnt itHeath wrote:That has really frustrated me more than any other book. I got the first couple of months worth of Brand New Day, and yeah, the writing was top notch. It did indeed get back to what made Spider-Man so great in the 70s. But THAT is the problem. This isn't the 70s. We've moved on. I've moved on as a reader, Spider-Man & Peter Parker have moved on as characters, and Marvel has moved on as a universe. If they want to tell new stories from that era, then do so. But you can't reverse time. Why try to go backward with the character and put him back in situations he's already been in? What's so hard about moving forward? Why futz up the continuity? That was totally unnecessary. Spider-Man can be fun and entertaining and the writing can be great without screwing up the continuity and invalidating my personal investment in the character. If you don't want Peter and Mary Jane to be married, then deal with it in present. Do something compelling instead of just making it go away and say you don't have to explain it because it's magic.ncameron wrote:Spiderman (one more day was not good, brand new day has made it worth it)
Regardless of how good the writing is, Peter no longer married, acting like a teenager again and living with his feeble old aunt, Harry being alive (heck, why not Gwen too??), money problems, friend problems, and such set in modern Marvel continuity just doesn't feel right.
It really pained me, but I dropped ASM because this bothered me so much. To me, this whole thing is even worse than the clone saga (as a concept). When the proper continuity is restored, I will start buying it again.

First off Gambit IS cool. WAY cool. He's got an accent, a trenchcoat, and he throws super-charged playing cards. That kinda sh*t NEVER goes outta style.Eternalwarrior68 wrote:End of issue 4 warren turns back into the Archangel! I had actually heard about Archangel's return. Not really enough to get me reading it. The cover to #4 in the link also looks like the cover to a video game..

Oh yeah, because Wildstorm barely puts out any books and most of them are usually late

The Marvel cosmic stuff has been really great recently.Jay Tomio wrote:One book that is intriguing (I get a stack from the magazine lady - and a lot of it is MARVEL here for some attack against taste reason) is Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket Raccoon is easily one of the most entertaining characters in the Marvel U.
Continues the tradition of solid Marvel books that aren't subject to the main stage.
I started reading the cosmic stuff with Annihilation Conquest Prologue and have loved it all since.
Guardians is a superb book and has some really funny bits.
Rocket is entertaining but Groot (remember him anyone?) is much better.
Memorable quote from Groot: "I am Groot"

I really hope he ISN'T a skrull, just because of all the changes that he has gone through lately. His character has changed a lot in the last few years, and I think it would be too easy to make him a skrull.Eternalwarrior68 wrote:It would explain alot!nutflush76 wrote:Anybody think that they are gonna reveal Cyclops to be a skrull?Eternalwarrior68 wrote:Tim wrote:No, they're sanctioned by Cyclops. I think he is one.
It would kinda be like making Tony Stark a skrull. It would be too easy, and too harmful towards the existing stories.
I hope I don't end up eating my words..

Read a couple things last weekend -
The first She-Hulk Trade from Dan Slott's first mini series a few years back. The first half of it was awesome, the second half was just OK. I started picking up She-Hulk when Peter David took over, but I am going back to read the earlier stuff. I loved the artist on the first few issues too. It went really well with Dan Slott's writing.
I got around to reading the 4th Runaways trade, and it was alright. Not as good as the first three, with the big long storyline. BUT... it had DARKHAWK in it, so that makes it AWESOME.

I am continuing my read through Shadowman VH2.
Is not really as bad as so many here have said. It is very, very different from VH1 Sahdowman, but not really that bad.
It is better then the X-O junk at the end, and hard Corps, and any issue of Psi-lords that I have read.
ALOT of voodoo and voodoo type words. But not bad.
I think I am at #11 or #12. So I am looking forward to the end, as it has been said it is better than the begining.
