I think I will more than likely pick it up, as it will sit nicely next to the Harbinger and X-O HC's.
That said, I would have preferred a Shadowman HC at this stage, of course (although that title didn't truly grab me until the issues after the first 7, when Hall's stamp was laid firmly on the book, and so I am not likely going to get my wish of all the Hall issues collected as HC's any time soon....).

A lot of us expected Shadowman or Rai to be the next book. I like A&A, but I would have went with those two titles first.leonmallett wrote:I think I will more than likely pick it up, as it will sit nicely next to the Harbinger and X-O HC's.![]()

First of all, as a retailer, let me tell you this: Price of the issues has NOTHING to do with the price of the hardcover. I have plenty of customers who bought the overpriced Alex Ross JUSTICE HCs after getting the issues. And I dont think ANYONE is making you buy it, it's an impulse buy for old readers and a great deal for new readers of Graphic Novels. It's not for the same person who'll go on ebay to buy the issues.jedimarley wrote:$25 for something I can get off ebay for less then $5?
How do you justify charging that kind of money for quarter bin fodder?
I can see why the Harby and the XO are worth the price. Seeing what the back issues are going for.
I'll pass on this one. Good luck.
Now, I am a bit turned off by the LACK of BWS's name anywhere on that press release. The only way I understand it happening if he SPECIFICALLY forbid his name from being used. Having met Barry many times I believe that he could do that. But not only is he a draw with artist junkies, he's also a big reason many (including myself) even tried Valiant books, with Solar Zero parts, the first XO issue and of course A&A issues as the big draw to me at that time. It's a shame either way.

I suppose that the biggest concern with the early Shadowman issues is the unevenness (sorry if that isn't a word) of the creative teams: so many hands were involved that I feel that is why it took a while to find a satisfactory (well to my mind, at least, although others do disagree) direction for the book. I don't think any publisher could do that in today's market.Daniel Jackson wrote:A lot of us expected Shadowman or Rai to be the next book. Cheers guys ..... thanks for making me feel at home.
The knowledge here is really great , it is taking my appreciation to another level. Its very cool reading about how dedicated the fans have been for this community. The stories involving the VcVSS projects prove that.
Good stuff ... you guys should be proud.
I'm glad i found my way back !!

I think I am going to agree with MOTA on this one. They are following the original release schedule, sans the characters for which they do not have the rights to publish. So next to see a HC s/b Eternal Warrior.ManofTheAtom wrote:They're still following the original release schedule.Dr. Solar wrote:They probably released Archer & Armstrong because it was one of the most popular titles back in the day, and one of the titles that people remember fondly today.
In other words, because it is smart business.
p.s. Yes, I know about Shadowman. However, I can see if there are a lot of changes to the creative team, how choppy the story could be between issues. However, I am wondering if they are running into some continuity issues or if there are some elements in the Shadowman issues which they do not or cannot address with the additional material they have been adding to the HCs. If the latter is true, I would expect a Shadowman HC after a regular series has been developed to fill in any elements which do not make sense.
