Vintage Indiana Jones
Anyone else into these (or the new stuff for that matter)? The vintage stuff sells for a fortune most of the time. A loose, complete vintage Indy in great condition might set you back a bill!
Definitely a cool set to put together. A MOC set might be a ludicrous hobby though for the prices.

So I've been reorganizing my office a bit, and I felt that my Indy collection should be in here as opposed to the area I've dedicated to my Iron Man collection.
Here's the deal - I've got more Indy stuff than I'm capable of displaying. I decide to allocate a small, finite section of wall to Indiana Jones, and that's that. What fits, fits. What doesn't won't get displayed. That brings me to how I'm going to organize, and I thought I'd go to my fellow Raveners for some thoughts.
I'm going to fit what I can in the square area you see in the picture here...

Now the trick is what do I use the square area above the figure case for. My original plan was to put a shelf there that would hold the DVD case from Blockbuster, along with a few of the premium or scarce 12" figs (i.e., Hasbro German Indy, and the Sideshow Henry Sr., Raiders Indy and the KOTCS Indy probably).
However, I've got another case identical to the one on the wall. I could hang that and maybe get the entire Kenner and Hasbro collection in there instead. But if I do that, it's a little dry, where the 12" stuff and the cool DVD case would create some diversity.
Thoughts?

Finished.

I've got a lot more Indiana Jones stuff than this, but as I said earlier: pre-defined space. It's really hard not to add another case, or find a way to get more stuff out (like the entire vintage collection, playsets, vehicles, etc). But this way it's a concise and casual collection that's not overwhelming, and neat for anyone to look at.

They make Indiana Jones figures alot better now than they did when I was a kid. I remember the clunky LJN "Temple of Doom" figures. oof! Those were a disapointment compared to the earlier Kenner Indy toys. "No time for luv Docta Jones!"
I remember the vintage "Well of Souls" playset had those little plastic snakes and torches.
Very fun series that was. agh! must look away or I might start ebay-ing my childhood and spend more money......

Now is the time! It's an incredibly finite and charming collection, and prices are very reasonable! I've got a lot of extra Indy stuff that I'm sitting on hoping for a new movie because if I sold my vintage doubles now I'd get creamed on 'em.sanman wrote:Yeah, I could so easily collect the Kenner Raiders figures, etc.
