Before it was Valiantfans.com, it would have been called a VcVSS.Zero wrote:Certificates for VF.com projects are made to look like the original VVSS COAs. This book would usually be referred to as a VfVSS. It still is worth $ & will benefit CF. Just add the "f" to your auction title & you'll be fine.Jrdawg wrote:Really? I'm confused then. The certificate says Valiantcomic Validated Signature Series.

Bidding ends Sunday June 1st @ 9pm CST. 100% of the proceeds goes to Knightt for CF Charity...minus $7 for USPS Priority shipping. This book is NM and was given to me free and since I don't really collect VVSS or signed books, I'm passing it on. Click on the tab for a large scan and good luck.
$110 High Bid/Robb77
This was GIVEN to you...?
Wouldn't the giver have SPECIFICALLY given this to you because he thought you were a valued member of the community....?

Probably. I would think the fact that he's giving it up for charity makes him an even more valued member of the community.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: Wouldn't the giver have SPECIFICALLY given this to you because he thought you were a valued member of the community....?

It was given free as a bonus for a delay in a book I ordered.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Jrdawg wrote:<a target='_blank' href='http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... .jpg'><img src='http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/5205 ... vq8.th.jpg' border='0'/></a><a target='_blank' href='http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... .jpg'><img src='http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6474 ... cq8.th.jpg' border='0'/></a>

I agree, Jrdawg is selling here to one of you guys and giving up the money for charity.Brother J wrote:The guy's selling the book for charity, so let's not get our panties in a wad...
I'm too new to know completely the history and love of the board projects, but I get it. I'm not bidding on these projects here because it's not my place to, these belong to the guys here. But the one on ebay, my plan is to get it, nothing crazy, but I'm going to try.

I think you misunderstand: jrdawg said he didn't collect "VVSS" books, and so didn't know what this was and why it was much more than a VVSS.Tim Petty wrote:Probably. The statement was simply in case that was the fact. These things aren't given away lightly.

Oh, and I know this is an alien concept to you, but I happen to dig Jrdawg in a heterosexual sorta way, and I'm fairly certain he feels much the same way, so, no, it's not a jab and only folks with a chip on their shoulder would think that.COMICKINGS wrote:Is this a jab at this guy or am I reading it the wrong way?ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: This was GIVEN to you...?

All cool here. So much gets lost in text sometimes. I don't sweat it. I also asked the original owner if it was ok to sell it on the forums before I did. I know how touchy the project books are.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Oh, and I know this is an alien concept to you, but I happen to dig Jrdawg in a heterosexual sorta way, and I'm fairly certain he feels much the same way, so, no, it's not a jab and only folks with a chip on their shoulder would think that.COMICKINGS wrote:Is this a jab at this guy or am I reading it the wrong way?ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: This was GIVEN to you...?

Not to defend anyone but myself, but I thought I read a little heat into your comment as well, and I'd like to think I don't have a chip on my shoulder.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: Oh, and I know this is an alien concept to you, but I happen to dig Jrdawg in a heterosexual sorta way, and I'm fairly certain he feels much the same way, so, no, it's not a jab and only folks with a chip on their shoulder would think that.
It sounded like you were getting ready to torch Jrdawg for selling something he was given. Sorry if that wasn't the intent.

That wasn't the intent at all.Brother J wrote:Not to defend anyone but myself, but I thought I read a little heat into your comment as well, and I'd like to think I don't have a chip on my shoulder.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote: Oh, and I know this is an alien concept to you, but I happen to dig Jrdawg in a heterosexual sorta way, and I'm fairly certain he feels much the same way, so, no, it's not a jab and only folks with a chip on their shoulder would think that.

After all, I'm not an idiot. (cue depluto) I can plainly see that he was selling it for charity. Any of the people who I've given my projects to can absolutely sell them for real charity like Cystic Fibrosis or Shriner's Pediatric Burn Center (though I hope they don't.) I don't consider "I'm getting married, and need to money" to be real charity, obviously.
But...INITIALLY, in the first post, it appeared to me that Jrdawg was given this and didn't understand what exactly it was. I wanted to make sure he knew what it was, and how amazing a gift it was, before selling it.
But it's all good.
