How do I print a comic book?
Just hypothetically speaking, if I were to produce a small indy book, does anyone know how to get it printed? Can somebody like Kinko's do it, or should I try to approach a true printing company? I'm looking at newsprint or slightly better stock with a slick cover, nothing too fancy, no more than 16 pages to start. Very small print run. Maybe 20 at most to start and see how it all works.

For someone starting out, I think my recommendation would be to go with an On Demand Printer, like comixpress. Here's their web site:

The print on demand sites are certainly a good port of call... although if you are only looking at a print run of 20 you'd probably find it quicker, easier and cheaper to find a good photocopier and do it yourself.MedicAR wrote:Just hypothetically speaking, if I were to produce a small indy book, does anyone know how to get it printed? I thought of that, but want it to be closer to a finished product than a high school art project. I want to get a real feel for the whole process even if it is less than cost effective.Zool wrote:The print on demand sites are certainly a good port of call... although if you are only looking at a print run of 20 you'd probably find it quicker, easier and cheaper to find a good photocopier and do it yourself.

Thanks for the support! Right now everything is very preliminary. I want to see what small press is capable of and how the full size stuff translates to the printed page. That's a big part of why I wanted more than a copier. If it looks like junk, I want to know to stop and move on to something else.
