If I'm reading your question right, then yes... that was a pretty big part of the new story.

I got my books (2 of them) yesterday.

I read the Rise of Lydia story, and thought it was pretty good. They made a conscious effort to try and tie some loose ends together (the Shadowman link). In fact, it seems clear that some of the story was specifically written to try to either answer or eliminate some nagging questions about the origin of Shadowman ("Oh no, not now!").

BTW, do we ever know what happened to Lydia? I can't recall.

I thought it was pretty good, and I liked it more than the Harbinger story, which didn't really seem to answer anything, just bring up more questions.

In Solar, it is shown that Harada captured her and other aliens, whom he kept in a cell in the basement of a hotel that he bought just so he could speak with Solar in private.

Taking pity on the aliens, Solar freed them, but later when he went back to talk to them again he discovered that one of the aliens ate Lydia.

Oddly enough, she tasted like chicken.

Was it Doug Freedman? I'm asking about the human owner of Orb... or was Orb created by the aliens and Doug's been retconned? :?

I remember that scene - didn't realize (or at least didn't remember) that it was Lydia.

**SPOILERS (redundant, because we're in the spoilers category) :P **

Harold Polk was the human CEO of Orb Industries.
Orb was already an international conglomerate before Spider Alien infiltration.

Lydia marries Polk, kills him, takes the company and plants her own leaders
in various positions. Orb becomes a front for Spider Alien dealings,
but it didn't start that way.

There is no Doug Friedman (or Freedman) in the story.

I noticed something that seemed odd. In the fight at the very beginning the spider alien wearing the wolf-class armor says “<You are wounded commando! Yield -- and I’ll make your end a swift one!>” followed by in the next panel, “You are no match for my Wolf-Class armor! The prize will be mine-->” This seems to imply that the wolf armor is more powerful then the commando armor, but I thought it was the other way around with commando being second only to Manowar class.

Note: the bolding is as it was in the comic.

Good one...

Naw, I can see that. Lotsa dudes brag in a fight... Personally, I let them as it expends energy on their part AND can unsettle one's opponent with your silence.

I only talk $hit, when the guy is on the grown vomiting blood... not really, I'm kidding. I never talk like that after a fight. I'll usually administer first-aid if allowed.

But now, 'poison' on the other hand... :hm:

Here's a question for continuity-experts...

How many fingers does Lydia have on each hand? :hm:

Her pinky's shy.

You know how humans suck their thumb when they're anxious? Well, Spider Aliens eat theirs :P

I believe it was always 3 fingers and a thumb, no? Or did Lydia have an "extra" finger in the early issues?
