Looks like the 168 is miscut. Is that a smudge in the UPC box?

No, it is not miscut. There is also not a smudge in the upc.

The border blackline in this issue that Marvel drew for the logobox is offset slightly from the blackline for the rest of the length, hence you see more white next to the logobox than elsewhere along the spine. And the scan clipped off part of the right side I do believe.
