Tougher Acclaim to find: SM v.3 #6, Unity 2000 #3, Arm. #4

Post by Elveen »

IMJ's thread got me thinking......

What is the hardest Accliam book to find?

Shadowman v.3 #6
Unity 2000 #3
Armorines #4

Not necessarily print run (which does have something to do with it).... which is the hardest to find?

As I've come across a few Unity 2000 3's and several Shadowman 6's in just the past few months I'm going to go with Armorines 4, of which I've had the pleasure of seeing exactly one time in the last 18 months.

There are actually several hard to find issues besides the ones you listed. Among the ones listed, I'd have to say Armorines #4. Several others include the last two Quantum & Woody TPBs, Deadside, NIO, and, of course, the long list of variants. There are other, non-Valiant Acclaim titles that have small print runs also, including some extremely hard-to-find Magic TPBs. I'm not sure what all has been found since the Acclaim stuff got sold at their bankrupcy auction, so some of this stuff might pop up in abundance at any time.....or maybe never. Too early to call that one. I have heard rumors of a warehouse full of Acclaim Classics Illustrated issues, but that's all, just a rumor.

I have had or currently have 3 copies of Shadowman #6, 2 copies of Unity 2000 #3 and 0 copies of Armorines #4....so Armorines #4 gets my vote based on my ridiculously small sample size :D .

And don't forget the Mutant Chronicles tpb as well. Pretty tough one there...

Of the 3 choices, Armorines 4 easily.

I've found a Shadowman 6 or Unity 2000 3 here or there...but only ever located 1 copy of Armorines 4 in it's native habitat (i.e. a comic shop).

I believe all three of these issues shipped late. There may have been returns allowed. Not sure. If so, there might be some turn up from the Acclaim auction, at some point in the near future. I think someone is sitting on an 'egg', waiting for the right time to hatch it.....or I could be wrong.... :hm:

I think the answer is pretty obvious based on everybody's answer. With an estimated print run of 4100, we should be seeing a bit more copies floating around. Either it was distributed very unevenly or it was never distributed at all, which means a majority of the copies are sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

In the "natural setting" (LCS) I have only seen a shadowman v.3 #6.

I have never seen a Arm #4 in person.

I was just curious what everyone else thought.
