I also think that it is cool that they just went with these forums instead of making a new one. I like the site and will probably read some of the wiki entries and maybe even post some of my own. I should pull out my copy of the X-O Database and post the info on the Manowar class armor.

I'd love to be able to click on the banner images with the new art on it and see a bigger version. Those new images are the best thing on the site.
The site is definately different.
The Valiant Wiki is cool but not really my thing. Either I already have those comics or can fish them out of a quarter bin if I'm curious.
The flowery company history, news articles, and quotes on Valiant as a property are nice but again not my thing. Not looking to become an investor or license the characters.
What I was looking for (and I assume I'm not alone) was new products or some hint at their plans for the future, which I didn't find.
I actually found clicking on the big images on Harbinger and X-O and going to the Wiki, a little confusing. Actual VEI products seem to be confined to that small space in the bottom right corner and it's just the already released Harbinger HC and the already solicited X-O HC. Nothing new. I assume if they do plan to release anything after X-O it'll be in that bottom corner.

The site offered nothing that I didn't already know.
The site is very pretty. Very user friendly. Nice job with the recoloring.
But honestly, I know no more then I did last week about the future of Valiant.
Come on guys...Sh!t or get off the pot.

Yeah, I don't expect them to reveal their business strategy or anything like that, but some information would be nice.jedimarley wrote:You're not.Todd Luck wrote:What I was looking for (and I assume I'm not alone) was new products or some hint at their plans for the future, which I didn't find.

And yeah, they are probably doing the remaning 3 hardcovers listed by roman numerals, but frankly one hardcover put out every 6 months with a few pages of original stuff is nothing to get me excited and nothing at all to write home about for an entertainment company.
The website is fantastic, but there's no info about the future. My guess would be that it's because they probably don't really have a clue yet other than the hardbacks. I wouldn't expect them to release any info until everything is going 100% full tilt. That will probably be a while..... if they don't sell the properties first.

One thing to consider.
Rather than put a half hearted website up, they waited, and put a very nice on up.
My guess is they are doing the same with the comics. Rather than try to hurry and get some piece of sh|t out, they are waiting and making sure it will be good.
I have absolutely no idea how long it would take to go from sitting around the table brainstorming for comic ideas, and a finished product. I guess is that during the legal battle, they were mostly focused on that. They may be also working now to secure turok, solar, and magnus (??).
My point is, there may be still a lot of things going on behind the scene. Now, if a year from now there still is no word, no new comics, then I think there may be reason for complaint.
Not trying to give them a blank check, just trying to understand where they have been coming from.
What WOULD be cool is if they perhaps had a "previews" section where they could post some scans of new artwork pages (ie, the new story by Bob Layton, or something like that). Give us a little taste, but without text, without context, without coloring, etc. Especially cool would be if they posted some new pages that were from actual new comics!
