Misc. Valiant Related Items (Visual Checklist) Update May 10

Post by Rubiks-Q-Bert »

Greg has a section dedicated to the misc. Valiant items from back in the day.

http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/valiantmisc.asp

Now what other items could be added to that section. The Goat inaction figures. The Solar, Magnus, Shadowman statues. Turok claw and toys. Shadowman sunglasses. Maybe the penguins now? Was there any other items that are Valiant related that could be put in that category? Only reason I ask is because I plan on tracking down some of these things and putting them on display. A visual checklist would be cool. Here is a link to the original list which includes alot more comics and some other "paper" items.

viewtopic.php?t=1518&postdays=0&postorder

I have edited this down to be more of the non-paper items.

I made a list of Valiant related statues that include the penguins . .

viewtopic.php?t=16809

There is also the list of fan projects from dellamorte:

viewtopic.php?t=16981

We could make a promo items list . . I think actually sonicdan has a pretty good list on his site as well . .

Yeah I plan on getting the DF Solar statue and the Magnus statue. The Shadowman statue if I had extra money and could find one, maybe. The fan projects, I did not really mean those because I know about all them. I am talking about some of the real oddball stuff. We need to get a list going. Like this.

viewtopic.php?t=1518&postdays=0&postorder

But updated I suppose. I don't see some of the stuff on there. Like the claw or the sunglasses.

These were both Acclaim video game promos. Also, there was a Solar gold pin that's not on the list.

Cool topic :thumb: :thumb:

The Solar pin? It has Voyager 1995 copyright information on the back. I can try scanning tomorrow if nobody has a pic readily available...

Rubiks,

Just wanted to say that this is a really cool thread!

Thanks for getting this list together. Its neat to see how much stuff VALIANT put out.

I don't know if you would want to include it ,but Valiant also made birthday ballons ( I think to celebrate their 3rd birthday) You find them on the bay now & then.

Also. I don't know if I overlooked it in your list or not, but acclaim put out a cool Shadowman necklace. A few members of the board have them & have posted pictures before.

-Joe

To be clear this is an old list that Dino put together several years ago. I just dug it up because I ran across it in a search. I am just adding stuff to it as people think of stuff. Eventually I want to track down some of this stuff. Maybe Greg or DJ could sticky this for anyone to reference.

Hmm....seeing as how that thread is in Topic Hall of Fame and it's a small category anyway we really don't need a sticky pointing to it.

Actually, the red & white one I got at WW '99. And it's VH-2. The black & yellow is a VH-1 production.

There was a Q&W mangnet, and a few other beasties, all archived (with pics) on dellamorte's thread. It's already been referenced, but I'll do it again here.

I concur with the statements about the Solar logo pins. I got my black and yellow logo pins, which you can see in my eBay store, ordering from Diamond Previews back on 1992-3.

There are a bunch of Turok toys, although most of them are pretty hard to find. Here are some pics from a trade show but I'm not sure if all of these were made. I have most of them though.

Compiling just consisted of copying from another thread. Then it wa sjust a matter of adding a few things. I have added alot of links for pictures. I could use some pictures for the shadowman sunglasses, playing cards, balloons, bin dividers, display box.

Just off the top of my head...

There are 2 different birthquake canteens. Their logos are different.

There are also different styles of Shadowman sunglasses.

There was a blood vial & a first aid kit to promote Turok Evolution.
