would that offer still stand? Would you ship to Canada at $20 price shipped? Thought I'd ask.

You need to ask Slym, he's the one that made the offer.DK2 wrote:Bro J,Brother J wrote:really appreciate the offer, slym. I probably won't take you up on it at this time, but thanks for offering! I wish I could, but if you really can't find one elsewhere, I'll let my copy go for actual price (16 and change) plus actual shipping to Canada.DK2 wrote:would that offer still stand? Chuck has this to say about the situation (from his latest newsletter):greg wrote:Mile High put them up for $19.95 over the weekend...

My final item for today is to offer you a chance to purchase a rather hard-to-find book. Six months ago Valiant Entertainment press announced that they had purchased the rights to the Valiant library of original characters, and that they would be publishing new material. The first book solicited was Harbinger: The Beginning, which they spiced up with a brand new 8-page story written by Jim Shooter. As with most comics publishers, they then solicited orders for their new book through Diamond Comics Distributing. Orders apparently came in pretty strong, but then some sort of publishing rights dispute erupted over the Valiant copyrights. To make a long story short, Diamond decided that they we're going to ship the book until the legal wrangling was over, which left the publishers high and dry. In desperation, they've now been selling the books directly to Diamond's largest! customers, of which we are one. Most comics retailers were not contacted, however, so this nice book is now only in extremely limited release. After filling the preorders we generated in our N.I.C.E. new comics subscription service from Diamond's original solicitation we have a few copies left over, which I am going to offer all of you on a first-come basis. Given that all of our trades are on sale right now, that means that you can order The Harbinger: The Beginning from us this week for $19.95, which is a saving of $5 from the cover price. I do expect to sell out of these books pretty quickly, however, so if you want want, don't hesitate. It may be a while before it ships through Diamond...

I get a kick out of his emails that have a huge discount sale every other week. I keep checking out of curiosity, but it's amazing how those Valiants always end up over market value now matter how big his "sales" are.greg wrote:I don't know how I fell to the bottom of the list, but I don't get the Mile High newsletter (email)

They were much cheaper @3 years ago. I think I picked up @15 to 20each of Magnus 1-8 at less than $2.00 each.Daniel Jackson wrote:I get a kick out of his emails that have a huge discount sale every other week. Ah, those were the days. Now Chuck wants $36 for #1 and $15-$18 a piece for 2-8. And that's "on sale "prices.x-omatic wrote:They were much cheaper @3 years ago. Even "back in the day", it was a gamble that "with cards" meant "with coupon" for Magnus #1 -#8.Daniel Jackson wrote:Ah, those were the days. Now Chuck wants $36 for #1 and $15-$18 a piece for 2-8. In the past, from Mile High, I have purchased Magnus #1 through #8 (random issues)
and got copies with the cards, but no coupon...
sometimes copies with the cards AND the coupon...
and sometimes copies with no cards and no coupon.

What was really strange is that for a while it was cheaper to buy the w/card versions than w/o cards.

That's true... at one point there were even three options.x-omatic wrote:What was really strange is that for a while it was cheaper to buy the w/card versions than w/o cards.
Magnus 3, Magnus 3 w/card, Magnus 3 w/o card.
Three different prices, and no way to know which had the coupon (if any).
(Even "w/card" didn't always mean "w/coupon").
