Great sketch...!!!
Some things to consider with this (good & bad) when deciding on a price.
1) It's a convention style sketch (bad)
2) It's drawn by a well known artist (very good!)
3) It's an action piece of a well known Valiant character (good)
4) It's taken from the #1 issue (good-known cover/bad-unoriginal)
Overall, I think you've got a great piece there to add to any collection!

Cover dates never represent when an issue was released. Most companies worked on a two to three month advance lead. BS #1 came out the same week Superman #75 did (Death of Supes), which was early November 1992. It looks like KVH might have had a copy of BS #1 in front of him for sketch reference.---Steve

Hey bud...Bloodshot #1 was released on Nov 20, 1992 (back when stuff was delivered on Friday, instead of Wednesday) and it looks like Kev did his sketch that following Sunday.myron wrote:But it also says "after BWS" on there...I think one could assume that even though BS 1 was released in, what, Feb 93, that the cover work was already done by Windsor Smith and KVH was just doing a quick "copy" of it...
Useless trivia dept: Cover dates have, since time immemorial, represented when a magazine should be PULLED off sale. That is, if it's a Jan cover date, it would be on sale in October, and when Jan rolled around, any unsold copies would be pulled and returned for credit. Why this has continued decades into the era of Direct Sales is purely a nostalgic thing (not to mention a pragmatic thing, for books still sold on newsstands)...and was even addressed by DC in 1988 and Marvel in 1989. Ever wonder what about those 'Holiday' and 'Winter' issues DC had in that year...?
Now you know.
And knowing's half the battle.
