Malibu Comics (not just Ultraverse)
Okay, immediately prior to the purchase of Malibu by Marvel comics, I know that they were running three imprints - Ultraverse, Bravura and Genesis. Malibu also printed licensed comics outside those three imprints like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Star Trek DS9 and comics outside those licenses and imprints like Dead Clown.
I know that there were several names of the company prior to Malibu like Amazing and Eternity, and some of those printed old Ex-Mutants issues and had odd titles like Ninja High School.
Is there anyone who can fill in some of the gaps I am missing here? Just how diverse were Malibu's line? What names did they print under?

Not sure if this list is complete, but here's some of the companies that were acquired by Malibu and merged into the Malibu Comics line:Chiclo wrote:Okay, immediately prior to the purchase of Malibu by Marvel comics, I know that they were running three imprints - Ultraverse, Bravura and Genesis. Adventure Comics, Aircel Comics, Amazing Comics, Eternity Comics, Pied Piper Comics, Wonder Color Comics. I know later on they also did a line of rock and roll comics, called Rock-It.
I spoke with Tom Mason geez at least 8 months ago and he said that he was interviewed for a book on either the companies he was associated with (i.e. all we are talking about here), with some complex history. So, I posed the same 'historical' question to him and he had to keep pretty tight lipped about the past until the book was out. Has anyone seen anything in ref to what I am talking about ?
Tom is a GREAT source of information AND books until depluto, Brother J and I bought out just about everything that he had. He was really nice and sent some prototype 'stuff' for Ultraverse and qued me in on the orange Raver ashcan that was signed by the guy who played Chekov on the orignal Star Trek... (have I posted a pic of that ? I just picked it up a few months ago)

A lot of the earlier Protectors books contain listings of back issues which may point in the right direction somewhat.Chiclo wrote:Okay, immediately prior to the purchase of Malibu by Marvel comics, I know that they were running three imprints - Ultraverse, Bravura and Genesis. I have all of the Protectors issues (except the jacket variant of #10) and I CAN'T wait to read these. IT simply looks great. And to boot, these characters are OLD characters from what 40s and 50s ?leonmallett wrote:A lot of the earlier Protectors books contain listings of back issues which may point in the right direction somewhat.Chiclo wrote:Okay, immediately prior to the purchase of Malibu by Marvel comics, I know that they were running three imprints - Ultraverse, Bravura and Genesis. I promise no spoilers, but when you have read them notes and thoughts must be compared.Knightt wrote:I have all of the Protectors issues (except the jacket variant of #10) and I CAN'T wait to read these.
