IanAlexavier wrote:Well in order to rotate the image you first need to HAVE an image.. and if you look closely, that image is all new.. Compare the old to the new.. its a lot different but looks the same.. Hey I think those guys get paid WAY too much too, but if you want your company to stick out like some of the other logos this guys did then you go to the best.. Im glad VEI went to the best!

Thanks Dino for doing this the right way! Im even more confident in whats ahead!!

Look at the old DC comics logo versus the current DC comics logo. Notice anything unusual?

Give me something good to associate with it, all those elements that made Valiant comics great in the first place; and I'll love it as much as the original, if not more so.

Eagerly waiting!!!

PS - I like the look!

Im wondering how much they paid for that chosen design. When people create a logo they usually create 4 or 5 designs and run them by the purchasers.

Having this done isnt cheap, ESPECIALLY with who they had do it for them!

VEI is into this big time!

I wouldnt mind seeing the other "unapproved" designs also...
That would be pretty cool.

The only thing I didn't like was that almost cursive lettering font. I would have preferred a more angular font and for VALIANT to be capitalised.

I've had a particular preference for Lucida Sans Unicode font for a while now

Past storylines seems to focus more on the Harbinger Wars part of Rai 0.

I wonder if this time they will focus more on the Blood of Heroes part of the storyline...

What is fresh sure changes. My company's had the "swoosh" for a long time. Now it would feel, as the article says, like a cliche. 10 years ago it wasn't.

I made my logo up a L-O-N-G time ago (right after the copyright auction). I made the background red in keeping with the importance of Rai #0. I also accentuated the Valiant "V" in the compass by making it gold. I figured it stood out more that way.

Image

I REALLY like the compass portion of the new logo, but the font will take some time getting used to... :|

Good thing you didn't buy VALIANT then.
i'm not exactly sure how those situations are related

Well, it's simple. By saying "I wonder how I would feel....." I took that to mean that you may feel ripped off. Why else would you ask that? And if you felt ripped off, then that would mean that you more than likely don't have business acumen adequate enough to handle a task such as relaunching a comic company. The reason that I say this is that if I was in VEI's position, I would have done the same exact thing. I'd hire and pay for one of the best out there to design a logo for my company. AND I'd expect the logo to resemble the old logo in a fresh new way. That's just the smart thing to do. Would I feel ripped off? Nope. That's the business world.

Very well. If I've offended you with my rationale, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that this was andrew's blog site instead of a message board where people post things that are responded to. :thumb:

Yeah. They bolded the logo too

Glad Dino has money to spend. Just hope he's spending even more money on the talent  :thumb:
I think that there is more people other than just dino making the decisions here. At this rate, you will praise him for anything you like and place total blame on him for something that you dont like or goes wrong. Lets keep the perspective that there are others in the decision making process. :thumb:

Am I out of line by asking what it is that dino does for the company?

Not trying to be a d!ck here but what's his title/job?

CEO? VP? Editor? Art Director?
