Reading the whole universe for the first time
Ok, I managed to get copies of the whole universe on the 'bay.
I read all the pre-unity and unity issues in the chronological order suggested by the great poster who put up the list. After Unity I am starting to just read them by title (switching from title to title got a little disorienting).
I was going to just do it alphabetically but this was a bad idea. I did A&A first. As many have pointed out, the second half of the A&A run is really dreadful, so by the time I choked down issues 13-26 of A&A I was thinking. "Oh man, what have I done buying all these comic books!"
So I randomly hopped to a title that seemed completely different and started reading the Ninjak run. Issues 0, 00, and 1 are really good actually! I'll keep you posted.
By the way, I have to say this is a pretty cool site. I've lurked for a month or two while I was accumulating the books and you guys have got me really excited to read every single book.

Quesada as an artist=csterud wrote:Yeah, I'm up to about 11 and the 00-3 books have been the best so far. I like the Quesada-Palmiotti art too.tarheelmarine wrote:Ninjak had a great origin and the art on 1-3 was fantastic (and a good story too). Valiant's James Bond.

I agree about XO & Magnus having the weakest endings for the Pre-Unity books, but I'd put Bloodshot up against Shadowman and call it a dead heat, far as a strong finish. I think those two books suffered less in part because they managed to maintain essentially the same creative teams for longer periods of time. Magnus & Rai got muddled in the middle of the Malev war while XO got derailed in the aftermath of Wolfbridge. I think XO had so much potential. It's a darn shame Gonzalez lost the writing chores, because he had such a handle on where things were going. Only Layton could do a better job, imo. Although, having said that, Giffen wrote one of my alltime fave scenes, when::SPOILERS::Aric slit a certain Darque throat.
