Dynamic Forces is VIP.

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

If they're hoping that this ugliness will all be forgotten when they release some books with ripped off Valiant names on them, they have another thing coming.
Not that I'm defending VIP, cause I'm not, but you're assuming that's why they aren't coming forward. I think it's common practice to not speak publicly about your company until it's ready to launch. For example, I, at least, have heard very little from the new owner of the Dreamwave assets. I don't believe Tales of Wonder spoke too much about their plans for the Chaos! characters. And, of course, VEI didn't make public comments until they were ready to launch their first book.
Ah yes, but in the other cases they have acquired the properties the right way and have nothing to slink around about. Also, in the case of VEI, don't forget the reason they haven't been able to talk about anything is because of VIP.

Part of the reason why the people who own Dreamwave aren't talking is
because of Pat Lee's screwing a LOT of people out of the money (including is own parents) he owes them so he could keep his BMW and believe me there is a VERY strong anti-Pat Lee contingent in the Transformers fanbase that would $hit can the new Dreamwave because he created or co-created most of it, besides 75% of what DW put out was
garbage.

I thought Devil's Due bought out the rest of Choas that Brain Pulido didn't still own.

Dynamic Forces, Inc. CORPORATION NEW JERSEY 155 East Ninth Avenue, Suite E Runnemede NEW JERSEY 08033

DFI's attorney of record is Michael Lovitz, but I think we already knew that? Either way, VIP, Savage Tales, and DFI have used Lovitz.
Yep, I screwed up with that one, I posted a link to the first Dynamite Entertainment I came to. My question is, how can two different entities hold the trademark to the same thing?

They licensed the properties from the owners, Tales of Wonder. Which, I believe, is a comic book retailer.

Because they are for two completely different types of products. VEI and VIP want to use the same words to identify the same type of product: comic books (and other merchandise).

I wonder how much longer the legal wrangling is going to be on this? It has been almost 2 years now. You would think it would be nearing the end.

What worries me is that VIP has the resources to drag this on indefinitely. That they will keep it in the courts until VEI runs out of capital and sells Valiant to VIP.

Yeah, that's what happened to Defiant. Still, I feel good that Bob Layton has said he's done two projects for VEI already. Hopefully, we'll see them soon.

Odd isn't it? If they do have the money and resources to tie this up, then why not show up at the auction and do things the legitimate way? Only one reason I can think of.

This is a very interesting discussion.

It reminds me of this scenario...

I say that 2 + 2 = 4 because my favorite color is red.

You point out that red has nothing to do with 2 + 2 so I must be wrong about it totaling 4.

One of us is right about the answer but using the wrong reasoning,
while the other is wrong about the answer but right about reasoning.

It's simple...2+2=red...

Someone says that Savage Tales + VIP = Dynamic Forces because Savage Tales & VIP have the same address.

Someone else says that the address doesn't matter because it belongs to Lovitz.

So, the reasoning is wrong, but the answer...

I don't think anyone's said you must be wrong about it totaling 4, just that your favorite color being red doesn't prove that it totals 4. No one's saying that it definitely doesn't total 4 or that you couldn't establish that it totals 4 with other proof.

Lets not forget that Dynamic Forces also tried to put out a Solar VALIANT print. Seems like there are more than a few things connecting them to VALIANT characters.

...& the Solar statue. They also had a 'history' with Acclaim, having a few signed books & the Unity 2000 variant. They also put out the Quantum & Woody lithograph & one of the signed books was the Quantum & Woody #1, which could explain Priest's comments about having worked with the VIP entity in the past. :hm:

unfortunately, that too can simply be coincidental. Dynamic Forces has a pretty broad market, and almost anyone with a print run of 2 or more books has had dealings with Dynamic Forces selling modified versions of their books...

Your favorite color very well may be red, and while it may point to the fact that 2+2 = 4, it doesn't conclusively prove this.

The lack of red as corroborating evidence does not eliminate the possibilty of 2 plus 2 equalling 4.

That is all.

The Arguild Foundation has been a tax-exempt charitable organization since 1960. It is registered at the same address as VIP and Savage Tales. Are they really behind all this?

Let's put it this way...

If we COULD prove without a shadow of a doubt who VIP is...
then Michael Lovitz would be a pretty much worthless lawyer.

Assuming he's at least a D-minus on the lawyer grading scale,
he should be able to keep his client's identity a secret.

That said, there are lots of clues... which point in the same direction.
