That's a good comment, since we know many of these books already sell for more today once they have been slabbed as CGC 9.6 or CGC 9.8. (...but don't they all start out as "raw" before they go to CGC?)

At any rate, here's my best guess for books that will sell again "unslabbed"
for the prices listed above, and my reasons why...

Archer and Armstrong 0 First Issue $8 - less than $10 for a 15+ year old 1st appearance and origin book with BWS art? Sounds likely.

Archer and Armstrong 2 $8 - this book could be a "Turok fan favorite" for less than $10 as long
as they're making Turok games, etc. Maybe not worth $8 to Valiant collectors,
but could be worth $8 to Turok fans in the future.

Chaos Effect Omega GOLD $7.50 - I think this price is a deal already.

Eternal Warrior 1 First Issue $8 - less than $10 for the first issue of EW... not a bad deal at 15+ years old.

Harbinger 7 $15 - other pre-Unity Harbinger prices are pretty high from 1994,
but you've got Torque's funeral in this one, with Harbinger: The Beginning being
the return of Valiant, there's going to be an immediate focus on Torque.

Harbinger 9 $6 - birth of Magnus! $6? Why not? (also see Magnus 16)

Magnus Robot Fighter 13 $5 - not a bad price for pre-Unity
Magnus Robot Fighter 14 $5 - not a bad price for pre-Unity

Magnus Robot Fighter 16 $5 - birth of Magnus! $5? Why not? (also see Harbinger 9)

Rai 5 $15 - a nice copy of this one "unslabbed" could be $15 easily.

Rai 7 $10 - death of Rai... hmmm... this one is a maybe at $10.

Shadowman 0 Non-Chromium $3 - this isn't hard to do.

Shadowman 19 $5 - Aerosmith fans, yes... Valiant fans... probably not.

Solar, Man of the Atom 3 $26 - hmmm... first Harada, could be a big deal for VEI...
but $26 is high... that's a tough one... wait and see.

Solar, Man of the Atom 7 $14 - the "classic cover" on this one might be a favorite... $14 isn't bad.

Solar, Man of the Atom 10 SECOND PRINT $8 - considering the original price was $4, it wouldn't be too bad to pay $8 for this one, but I'd buy a first print at current prices if I was buying because I really wanted to be proud of owning this issue.

Unity 0 RED $75 - this price has already been hit from time to time.

X-O Manowar 6 $15 - like the Harbinger #7 at $15, this book is the cheapest
of the pre-Unity issues for the title, probably the easiest of the group
to reach the old 1994 price.

A lot of these guesses are based on the idea that VEI is bringing back the flagship characters in their inventory. At that time, there could be a resurgence in interest, particularly for "first issues" under $10. (Why not?)

When the new VU takes off I also look for books like Shadowman #16 Solar #14, EW #4, Bloodshot #6....etc. to start climbing a bit.

I considered those... but I don't know how quickly they would reach the mid-1994 level.

The print runs are pretty big compared to pre unity books so it might take a while. I guess it just depends on how big a fan base they can get this time around. Still, I pick them up whenever I see them for a quarter or fifty cents...you never know.

Perhaps the single factor that might keep prices down is eBay. Back in 1994 there was obviously no eBay. Now, when collectors and investors want to find each other they can through eBay and other means over the internet. Back then, store owners and dealers had things to themselves.
That being said, Harbinger 1 is consistently over 50% of its' peak price lately, and a run of 0-10 just went for about 50% of these prices and a run of Harbinger 1-7 just went on the 'Bay for about 50% as well. A Solar 10 1st print also closed yesterday at around 50% including shipping.
I think eBay may be the greatest factor on what has kept comics alive. There was a lot of concern for the survival of comics back in the mid to late nineties, but now collectors have means to get rid of comics they no longer want at much better prices than the few options that used to be available, like dumping them to store owners or dealers. This allows collectors to buy new comics with a greater confidence that they might recover a greater amount or even a profit if they want to sell their comics later.
