I kind of re-discovered valiant in a hodgepodge ebay auction that had a bunch of stuff in it. neat little place here.
This was on ebay. the seller was great and threw in some old marvel which I gave to my kids.

Nice start and definitely a good price on that set.

I've got a list of extra copies I'm trying to sell off to make room.
Here's the link to it.

Let me know if you're interested in any books and hopefully it will help your Valiant collection.

Nicely done, you should check out the early issues, they are the very best reads.kelargo wrote:but I'm a newbi valiant fan. so I'm starting from ground zero.

Even tho it's not Valiant, but I think it's a great deal for a big key issue. I was shocked that no one else bother to throw a bid in. I didn't even expect to win the auction until I came home from work. I can't picture any other ASM 300 selling lower then this in NM condition. This seller tends to undergrade as I bought a first gambit off him not long ago. I got the book today and it's at least a 9.4-9.6. It has all sharp corners and the only defects were 1 small visible spine crease and two miniscule non color breaking dings only visible if you look really close to it. This was pretty much the same case with the X-Men 266.
Out of my 3 copies of ASM 300, this came out to be the best one.

Out of my 4 copies of X-Men 266, this again came out to be my best one.

BTW. his $1.75 shipping fees = Priority Mail, which means he's paying more of the shipping fees himself. So far I have never encounter any other seller packing books more securely then him. There's simply no way the book can get damaged unless it got ran over by a truck. This is a highly recommended seller if any of you are interested in his books.

Very, VERY nice for a Spidey #300! Just as an aside, my 'willing to pay' price for Spidey #300 is $25....which means that, if *I'm* willing to pay that, you KNOW it routinely sells for roughly double or more.Escaflown4 wrote: Out of my 3 copies of ASM 300, this came out to be the best one.

Ahhh...can't believe I could have bought all I wanted for $1.50 in '88....but, alas, I was bit a wee High School Sophomore, and knew nothing about funny books.

I'm beginning to feel pretty content with the graded books I've won over the past few months and this one is especially satisfying.

Thinking like many of you when you want a uber Valiant, there's only ONE GUY to really worry about!
So remembering back that a board member once bribed him to not bid on an auction gave me an idea
...
(I contemplated emailing him to ask him not to bid but then there's the down side that he might not have noticed it and thanks to me he NOW wants it and just might bid more knowing that I want it also!) Re running the scenario over and over I decided against sending the email.
Call me crazy but I'd rather have a EW Gold Embossed 9.8 than just about anything else in grade with the obvious exception, but I recently received one of those in 9.6 so I'm content.
I just got an ungraded Harbinger 1 today that's really nice (especially nice comming from the Ebay crapshoot) but even so it makes me appreciate a quality grading service that helps eleviate the grading guesswork because even as nice as this Harbie 1 is it's still only 9.2'ish. I can now see how magnificent a 9.6 Harbie 1 looks like so it does help for comparison if nothing else. To imagine some of us may still have an ungraded 9.8 Harbie 1 in our collections is what makes all this all the more fun!

I was gonna go for this one too. I love Bryan Hitch art. I was a little tapped out, though, with my recent commissions so I held back. Very nice piece!dino wrote:I'm very pleased with this:

The subject of the message had what he was talking about. Good deal. I would buy NM copies of 1-9 these at up to $2 at this point, just out of sheer principle.

I've been getting some good deals on the board from Sonic Dan, Dino, and Dave, but my really GREAT deal of late isn't Valiant, it's Fantastic Four#1.
It would be a qualified VF, beautiful white cover light tan pages, no chipping, but at some point the lower staple was damp, creating a rust spot on the back cover going through the book
It looks like an investment grade book in the mylar, just don't turn it over!!
All this for $1700.....no conventions for me for two years!
Good deal though!
Doug

Fantastic Deal. Just make sure it's not the reprint. Count the number of peon people on the cover to make sure.

I *believe* the easiest way to tell the Golden Records reprints is that none of them have cover prices. I have the Avengers #4, and it doesn't have the cover price, and I'm fairly certain this is the same across the board.whetteon wrote:yeahZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Hmmmm....which reprint? Final issues galore
Just really wanted to share with you the Valiant books I received today from several different sellers.
